Aaaand I am also stumped at the mushroom. I am quite familiar with its meaning, as I am a fan of the game it comes from, but the code does not make any sense. If I am interpreting it right, that is.

I didn't realize that the answers together are 5 characters. I've looked around for names I could use for that silly mushroom. Of course it was 1UP and the hints with 1s and 0s was so obvious for me that I never ever thought this mushroom itself could just be a hint.
So I was trying ONeup as solution, which obviously was wrong. Then I tried all sorts of silly things mainly from this wiki article. Yeah those didn't work either....

Solution
Part 1
Find the bold characters hidden in the description headings in this thread.
Part 2
Find the hidden url in GA1 and the hidden key in GA2
This took you to a jigsaw
When the jigsaw is finished you'll get a morse code wich will lead you an ITH puzzle.
Part 3
Answer the questions. Those two answers combined will give you the 5 character key for the last GA.
Use the mushroom (1UP) to figure out whether a character should be UPpercase or not...
