GOG is having a sale for some pretty good Ubisoft titles.
Like Assassin's Creed director's cut, Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete and Beyond Good & Evil. All of them DRM free as far as i know.

I know, that it's not Steam related, but i thought that some of you might appreciate a heads up. :3

I can highly recommend Settlers 2, both versions, Panzer General 2 & Albion.

Albion is pretty neat. I had loads of fun playing it at a friend's place when i was a kid.

Yes, at least over 3 (not played 4), and also over 7 & Rise of an Empire. I thought the Settlers series lost a lot of its focus when you got more direct control over your units.

With Settlers 2, you can pick one or the other. They're both good, but very similar. Settlers 2 Gold has some more "stuff" in it (like more looks for your people and such things. I think there are more levels as well), while 10th anniversary has a more modern interface. Then if you really like it, it might be worth getting the other one as well.

Settlers 3 is one that I'm lukewarm on. But buy it if you're interested in seeing the direction that the series takes & Rise of an Empire was just alright as well. Not played Heritage of Kings.

I really should get into that series. Bought them on GOG way back, but I've not got around to actually playing them. I remember a friends father being obsessed with Imperialism 1, to the point where he put up maps from the game on his wall.

The Battle Isle series is also good. At least the ones found in the collection pack, 4 is just so-so.

I'll probably pick up Albion. Rarely shop at GoG since they don't do regional pricing and try to only go for those older titles that are not on Steam. Thank you for this :).

You can set your price region on GOG for most classic games. Newer games will have a set region pricing (you can still view the price in another currency, but it will convert your regional price).

I can set it in € or USD. At the bottom of the page it says "Currency", where you can switch.

I don't know how it is for you in Canada but for me in Germany I get a store credit for games that are higher than the US price. Because of that GOG is usually cheaper for me than steam (outside of steam sales ofc).

Sweet, POD Gold is only US$1.99, bloody awesome racing game and even had a modding community for more vehicles and tracks.

Same. Then I got a computer with XP and found the game wouldn't even start.

Many years ago I got a demo of POD with some magazine and I was sooo happy when I found GOG carried that game.
I paid $2.99 and it was worth every cent.

Exact same story as me, played the demo from a magazine quite alot, I paid the full price of AUD$7.99 once I found it though.

Bump for GOG! Some very nice games there and good discounts. Also, as is the case with all games sold at GOG, zero DRM headaches which Ubisoft used to be notorious for during the days of hardcopy sales (and maybe some of their Steam versions still have third-party obtrusive DRM enabled?). Additionally, most of the games that are on sale do not have Steam cards or achievements (and a good bunch are not even available on Steam), so you're not really missing anything if those things play a factor in your purchasing decisions.
