Basically, I'm feeling absolutely happy. Just wanted to share a bit. I had a pretty huge scare 2 days ago when my dad was hospitalized with what was assumed to be a stroke. He lost control of some of his motor functions, but what really shocked me was what happened to his mind: he was just lying there mumbling some nonsense and not being able to remember his own (or mine, or my mom's) name. That's a deeply phobic thing for me, few things scare me as much as loss of control over your own mind. We spent about 24 hours fearing for his life, and then the hospital finally shared his diagnosis: a transient ischemic attack, meaning that it was a passing event, and he is going be fine. He's already left intensive care, I spoke to him on the phone today, and he's perfectly lucid, albeit still a bit weak. We are going to try to take him home as soon as possible because obviously a hospital is currently a dangerous place for an elderly person with diabetes and hypertension. And, well, I haven't felt this good for ages. Not sure why I'm writing this, probably just because it's very early in the morning here, everyone is sleeping, and I wanted to share with someone.

Sorry, I don't have any games to share right now, have some photos of what my kitten is doing at this very moment instead:

I am glad it turned out to be not serious in the end :)

And look from that perspective, now you know you should spend more time with him :D

I hope it wasn't a precursor to anything serious, but I agree with the others... life is too short, so spend it with those closest to you and show your appreciation with those you can't.

Thoughts and prayers for your dad, you and the rest of your family.

Boy, do I know what it's like to want to share things but have no one to share them with. But I read your story, so you shared it with me. Good for you, and your father.

In these situations, it is best to keep looking at the cat. Click Click( >θ<)σ)Д゚) 😸

Whew I can't imagine how scary that was. No, actually I can imagine and it sucks.
Very glad that your Dad sailed through it and that he's feeling better.
And thank you for sharing good emotions. I really don't mind anyone sharing any kind of emotion on SG but people tend to keep their good feels for themselves so it's a nice share.

That is great news that he turned out OK, albeit a bit scary to go through it in the first place. Thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery and safe trip home from the hospital.
