When does the Steam Summer Sale start and end?

Hmm its hard to save money when other sites offer more than your average 75% discount on most games than waiting a season on steam

I think it was mid July. I know I got Trine and Trine 2 near the end and the date I'm seeing for the purchase is the 22nd.
