Personally, it rubbed me all the wrong ways. I like instanced quests, so the very second some guy jogged past me and shot the zombies I was fighting I was kinda miffed about the whole experience. The whole "no classes" thing is pure marketing speech - you can respec, but Secret World is hardly the first game to allow this, and you get your skills based on the weapon you use. So while you don't choose a class when the game starts, your weapon choice is pretty much the same thing. I also found the combat system clunky and annoying, but it's somewhat hard to explain why.... you start with 2 skills, have no normal attack and everything feels really sluggish. Solo play seems to be right out of the window (or maybe I just suck) - I tried to solo, but didn't get far - and last but not least I found the whole inventory system to be unintuitive and somewhat convoluted.
Now to be fair many of these problems will probably go away on their own if you just take the time to thoroughly learn the game and play a bit longer than I have, but over the weekend I was really unhappy with the game.

One last thing that for me sealed the deal of not buying the game: The combination of having to pay for the game, having a monthly subscription fee and having and ingame shop is a business model I will not support under any circumstances.

Have to admit that I almost completely agree with this - I'm surprised at the low quality of the game considering the big names attached to it. Glad I tried BETA so I didn't waste my money on it to be honest.
