Heya folks,

This gem of a game, that was originally released in an unfinished state on Steam, has since been released to the community for free, with the intentions that the community finish development.

Development continues, the original steam release was janky, absurd and ridiculous - but in a truly unforgettably brilliant way. The game had genius design for game-mechanics.

It is a 2d realtime strategy game, where you compete against enemy factions in turns, where you can allocate some funds to 'capture' a planet, at turn end, if other factions put any funds to the planet you are targeting, you enter a 2d sidescrolling battle where you are a brain attached to a robot body. You dig underground gold for additional funds in the battle. You use funds to purchase units, weapons, items, tools etc (HUGE variety, all brilliant fun to experiment with) and drop them in from orbit using one of a few orbital-drop methods. The AI is stupid, but an absolute riot to watch - once you destroy the enemy brain, that planet produces funds for you each turn, and you can use remaining funds & additional funding allocated in subsequent turns to build up fortifications and units to defend the planet.

To understand any more, you'd have to check it out. The Cortex Command Community Project page can probably confer more about the game than I can in this post.

Here's info on the announcement regarding the source code being released to the community. (https://steamcommunity.com/games/209670/announcements/detail/1617272666792666330)
