Well, I often read about ladies getting upset with some dudes checking them out or wanting to get touchy when they wear skimpy cosplay to an expo. I don't condone it, but let's face it, they don't often see many people, let alone some ladies in the flesh.
So I agree with you there.

I like cosplay that is classy, accurate, and intricate. Interesting stuff like "doing stupid shit" is cool too. Deadpool cosplay, for example, tends to be very close in detail to the "real thing" and overall gets a lot of attention, especially when somebody does something stupid in such a costume. I've seen quite a few sexual jokes of deadpool cosplayers, like one guy touching another girl's boobs and basically being told to " fuck off". It's great.
Now, if you want to talk about the obvious fly in the room - female cosplayers - then I can totally go there but I can't say I have a comprehensible opinion on it.

Wait, seriously? See, that's cool because I honestly thought it was a female and the facial features are very feminine. Seems like he shaved his legs and arms, too. That's dedication.

"Adam's Apple Detector" no work if no close-up of throat is visible in pictures, no no no.
I would say, Asians as a race, have a much much higher % of thier population appearing androgynous.
Not the bad kind of androgynous, like women with thick mustaches >:D teehee.

The last two(Yennifer and... Forget the bitchy witchy's name... Trish?) are amazing. Those are real people, right? I'm not blind, right?! From what I know about good cosplayers, they tend to make their own clothing and that clothing looks well made.
EDIT: Also, damn, that scar on Geralt.

Eh, same difference, AMIRITE? Besides, she's clearly the worst supporting character ever.

Deadpool seems like a cocky cosplay to me, but maybe that's because I'm under the impression it gives you the "fun" and "crazy" tags as an obligation. That is, are the clips of people in Deadpool costumes not-so-real? Hard to tell sometimes.
I'd cosplay but I don't think I can really do it.

What part do you think you cannot do, the staying in character, making/obtaining costume, or wearing it in public?
From my experience, you don't have to act like your character all the time, though should be ready to do a signature pose when people want to photograph you. Lot's of people walk around chill and as themselves while dressed up.
Same kinda thing goes for Deadpool. I'd say that cosplaying him gives one more of a liberty to act crazy or fun/funny, but there's really no obligation. A lot of cosplay is showing off the costume you managed to put together, and how well you wear it. I think that it works better when people choose something that really is physically similar to them. That's part of why I prefer the two I mentioned, but also, I find most all of Deadpool's humor to be rather agreeable to mine, especially when I'm in the right mood.
Are some clips of people acting like Deadpool fake or staged? Probably, but that's commonplace with public videos anyway. But also, fans of him seem rather receptive to playing along with a guy who's being in character.

I'm not big on talking about this because I feel like it's grabbing for attention too much but I am a very awkward and self conscious person., even if you don't have to act like the character in question. For the most part, I just like seeing the costumes because a lot of the GOOD cosplays tend to be well-made and intricate in design. For example, I remember seeing a very well made Half Life suit that, IIRC, used strong materials (I'd like to say it was kevlar or something to say it was legitimate but I personally haven't seen one that was made of kevlar) and it looked amazing. Besides, I don't have a figure for cosplaying. I'm basically a stick-man, hehe.

Hum, some here have a very limited idea of what cosplay is about. It's not just adolescent girls in school uniforms.
