Hey there. I'm quite new here, but noticed it's a nice community going on here. I don't know almost any of you though, and the selfie thread only goes so far.
So in this thread, please write a short introduction of yourself. The usual things, like age, gender, country, what do you study/work, hobbies, interests, what do you love, like or hate, what kind of person you are, what makes you special. You can even add a photo if you're brave, but I encourage you to use the mentioned selfie thread for that, because I definitely won't be updating the post with the photos the way it's done there.

So i wrote an intro earlier but regretted doing so and deleted it.
But, It is who I am, nothing wrong if bunch of good people find out what I am like, no?

Note: it may or may not be the same, sorry! (or maybe good for you!)

Just a random 24 year old loser from India who currently hates his job but has no skills.
Got a degree in Multimedia (animation and stuff). now I am scared of drawing. also did a P.G. Diploma in Game Development
I am not sure what I like anymore (i love my family though!)... There used to be few things that I thought I liked though.
I hate myself, I hate crowds, I hate most people I meet, I hate many things.
I guess I should add that I am a regretful person :D

Editted back in because it ahs already been seen ._.

Not exactly harsh, it's the truth. I am bad at everything :D
I did not exactly get the job I studied for.. What I studied (at least the degree) is what I am really bad at.. I even considered dropping out but I had no options... I can't work in that.
The diploma though, I got a job after 1 year and what I am doing is not exactly related.
I can't drive (properly) either... I can't even drive enough to get a license (but i can drive on the road!.. with a lot of pressure)

First bought a venus flytrap in a garden center because seeing this carnivorous plant for real was making me so curious, then, I learnt how to grow it the best and after some months it was still alive. I saw some other species in other GCs, and I bought some more. Now, 10 years later, I grow 100+ species and know a lot about them and a lot of people like me D:

Don't want to reveal my name because of multiple reasons but if an individual is cool with me I would rather tend to revealing it. mysteries!
I'm 23 years old and hopefully going to start IT studies in application development the upcoming semester. Related to this my hobbies are computer in general: coding, analyzing, gaming, administrating.
Other hobbies are parkour, swimming, basketball, music (listening as well as producing - mainly acoustic and electric guitar, learning the keys and since the parents of a friend offered me to have one of their violins for free I'll start learning that one too and drums once I get my hands on one). Since I can't afford lessons I'm teaching myself though :D
I do vape and smoke shisha for the enjoyment and and I like socializing.
I'm interested in all kind of things preferably ones that are intriguing and challenging (as in raising brain activity).
Animals <- can't say nay to those adorable bastards <3 Especially not to any form of cats, to squirrels, some breeds of dogs, a few reptiles, birds, wolves and some insects such as the praying mantis.
I dislike humans or better said people with negative attitude in general (that would be like almost the whole world population).
You can be as immature as you want as long as you are fair to yourself and other people as for age is not equals maturity.

Don't know what else to say so if you got question just ask me ;)
and congratulations, you guys know more than my steamprofile reveals about me

Who am I? 24601

I'm 25, I live in Poland. I studied biomedical engineering (and neurobiology and biophysics for short period of time), then I've had change of heart and switched to computer graphics for major. I wish to work as 3d character artist for games (and I'm close to getting job right now :D)
I like playing video games (yay, captain obvious here), art and learning languages (the languages I studied: English, German, Japanese, Latin, Swedish, bits of French, Russian and Italian). I used to read a lot, but few years ago I stopped for unknown to me reason and although I'd wish to go back to it and don't even know what exactly I want to read. Another long lost interest of mine is history. When it goes about music, I like classical music the most (hearing philharmonic live is the best type of concert there is for me), but I listen a lot of different stuff too.
I like spending time alone, I'm very introverted and unsociable. The only things I find better in company than alone is watching movies and drinking. But those activities are not something I can't live without. I'm pretty lazy and procrastinate a lot which with my perfectionism is horrible mixture. I have a lot of ideas, but usually not enough willpower to make it happen. And it's hard for me to keep being excited for time long enough to finish things, which makes things even worse. But it seems that I'm starting to get a grip over these bad qualities :) I don't think I hate anything (the closest to hate would be my attitude towards myself), but I dislike hot wheather, crowded places and many commonly liked foods. I don't think I'm special in any way. I'd wish to be though, but that's probably just my vanity talking.

English, German, Japanese, Latin, Swedish, bits of French, Russian and Italian

I wish I had your talent for languages. I only speak two. Would love to pick up a third at some point, but I'm not good at learning new languages.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Try anyway, even if you won't get very advanced, it's always nice exeperience :) You have some lowhanging fruits to choose from if you want to start with something easy - in your language group there are two pretty similar to Swedish (although... I'm always amazed by Swedes who understand Danish, it's some kind of witchcraft for me... When I watch Bron | Broen with Swedish subs, I always try to make something out from Danish rambling and usually fail miserably unless it's something really obvious). I do encourage choosing something entirely different though - for me it's always more interesting to learn language that is considerably different in some way than the ones I already know.

I can't make out most of what Danes say either, unless they talk really slow (and are from Copenhagen, people from the more rural areas are impossible to understand). It's mainly people from the south that can understand Danes.
I'll have to find time & energy to learn a new language, which is not possible right now, work eats up quite a lot of energy. And I'm not even sure what language I would study, preferably something I would have some use for (so Russian, Chinese, German, Spanish or Portuguese would be likely candidates).

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Now I'm trying to imagine how Danes from rural areas sound like. Not sure if I want to hear it in real life, haha. Danish I hear in movies and TV-shows already confuses me enough.
German could be easy to tackle - back in the times when I didn't know Swedish at all, I could understand some words because of similarity to german counterparts (e.g. utbildning - Ausbildung) . Of course there are some false friends (my favorite swedish-german-english false friend is word "gift"), but vocabulary should be easy part.
Chinese is very useful language, but I can't force myself to learning it - it sounds horrible to my ears and I'm pretty bad with accents/tones and they play very important role in Chinese.
I find Russian beautiful (again accents are important, but in this case, I can live with it) and I plan to learn it more than the meagre amount I had at the uni, as soon as I'll have stable week plan again. From what I know they have many grammar exceptions, so it might be pretty time consuming.
As for Spanish or Portuguese - sorry, no clue there. I had one or two lessons in Spanish and wasn't overly impressed.

Comment has been collapsed.

When I was in Denmark (which must have been about 15 years ago, time flies...), as soon as someone from a more rural area was on TV, they had to add subtitles, so I'm not even sure Danes understand them ;)

And I'll have to look into what possibilities exist around here for languages courses if I can find the time & energy to learn a new language. It won't be soon, and I really want to finish that Bachelor in history that I started before I became an engineer at some point as well...
And thanks for the info. Might skip Russian then. While it's a useful language (or well, will be a useful language again, once the Russian economy recovers), I probably won't be able to motivate myself to learn it.

can I just quote your post for my description?

Ha, Sure.

edited text is italic :)

Okay, I've been impolite and haven't introduced myself first. Here goes.
The name's Diana Robert. 28/F/Estonia 35/M/USA. No jobs, no studies. Just sitting on my ass all days, arguing with feminists my brother that lives upstairs and posting/reading memes. I'm into just heard about this MBTI thing and mostly want to visit MBTI themed groups and discussions online. Identifying as INTP INFJ, which should say more about me than the length of this post, to people who know MBTI. That's the beauty of it. To others, I'm just "that weird odd person who occasionally zones out, doesn't talk much but occasionally says something completely weird, and almost never has any emotional reaction to anything", or maybe "the kid with a huge potential, if only the effort would match it", as the teachers always told when I started skipping school slept through their class.
I also sing karaoke for myself sometimes, or even record it. I may share the songs if anyone cares enough, but for now I keep them.
I've worked as a graphic designer mechanic in past, and sometimes take in some freelance work even now (very rarely though), mostly logo design easy stuff (fast easy money), but could be other stuff too, as long as it can be done with Illustrator my tools. I'm more of an idea lazy person than a hard worker though, so I prefer to do things that are more creative and less work-heavy.

What I like: my boyfriends, my mother, metal/rock music, some games (recently played some very awesome ones like Portal 2 and Fallout New Vegas 4), smart and funny (in short, witty) people, offensive humor (from super dark to just fart jokes), pissing off people for own amusement, perfumes, make-up, nail polish and other cute stuff, potatoes, tomatoes, hamburgers, Coca-Cola.
What I dislike: children, social justice warriors, some things I can't say because I'd get banned, minions, anime, talking on phone, talking anywhere, Estonian Texas weather.

Probably something more, I'll update when it occurs.

regarding the personality test that was my first time ever taking one and half the questions I was kind of conflicted over... but I did score 100% for introvert anyways (and have always been interested in people's personalities)
and for minions and anime, I am wearing a minion shirt right now lol and I don't particularly dislike anime even though I don't watch it
that probably took more work than typing it up myself haha

I used to have colleagues that would refer to "us" as engineers and it never quite resonated with me. Again, I thought of MechE's, EEs, etc. Nowadays we'd say we work "in IT," so that works for me as a sufficiently vague term to replace engineer.

I'm Ian. As far as I know my full name is completely unique, so that's pretty cool.

I just joined last week and have been enjoying the community here so far. Since I'm using my real name, you can find out pretty much all this through google, but I'll put it here anyway.

I'm going to be 28 in two weeks, which means I've been fixing computers for half of my life now. I toyed around with acting and independent film work for about 4 years, and loved every chance I got. I love playing softball, riding motorcycles, and using memes.

My gaming interests are very specific (FPS/RPG/Racing, AAA-quality, achievement-based) since I don't have a lot of spare time.

Ultimately, I love sarcasm/wit/humor and my favorite thing to do is make people laugh. :)

I'm a 24 year old, from England, with no self esteem. I spend almost all my time on games, directly or indirectly. I play games (though mostly The Binding of Isaac these days), I watch others playing games on YouTube and Twitch, I read about and discuss games on various websites, I program for games at work (and also at home if I can find the ever elusive motivation) and much of the music I listen to is game soundtracks. Besides that I enjoy progressive metal in the vein of Tool, Karnivool, Rishloo, and a recent discovery, Smallman.

I have a degree in Computer Science. University, for me at least, was not the social experience many others seem to portray it as. It served largely to cement my introverted ways, due in no small part to the fact that there is basically nothing social happening that doesn't involve alcohol. I don't like alcohol, it tastes terrible and drunk people are annoying at best. So it follows that I have very few friends and none that I've actually seen for years.
Looking back, all of my friendships have been formed largely by coincidence of proximity. As soon as the proximity is no longer enforced they fade away, and if they don't go immediately, my own lack of effort and aversion to social events will push them away. I don't really make friends online either, beyond the occasional transient positive interaction. I avoid multiplayer games because I find they tend to be toxic, unfriendly and everyone inherently has more practice than me, so the journey to getting better is generally unpleasant. I dislike relying on others for my happiness (notably absent as it is in any case), partly because they are unreliable and partly because I don't want to be a burden. Perhaps I am projecting my own unreliability and how burdensome I am to myself on others...

Being the cynical pit of misery that I am, I enjoy things of a darkly surreal nature, such as the art of Zdzisław Beksiński that I featured heavily in my birthday giveaways here a few months ago. Sometimes I make terrible artwork, such as my current profile picture and whatever this is. I'd like to do more creative things, but the comfort zone is too comfortable and procrastination is rampant. Sometimes though the comfort zone is not comfortable, it is stagnant and unpleasant, but the prospect of leaving it is still too painful, so I wallow in negativity until the cold tide recedes and I can be empty once more.

If you read this far, sorry for the time you just wasted on me and my disjointed, self-centred rambling. Hopefully you'll have learnt your lesson for next time.

Hmm, why not. I hope I won't regret this, although it's not like too many people would be interested in stalking me or I'm anything special. :D I won't write my age though, because people would judge me for that.
I'm male. I'm from Hungary, from a small town close to the capital with around 10,000 people. I'm studying, and I plan to be an administrator or maaaybe a programmer. I grew up on video games and anime, so my current hobbies are playing video games and watching anime. I have barely any interests other than these two. What I love? As I said, anime and video games, mostly (sometimes symphonic) power metal music (but I can listen to many types of music, like if I play a VN or watch an anime and I like the soundtrack, I can listen to a totally random track for real long), my gf, and people who don't judge people. What I hate? Well, certain people who keep ruining my life. What makes me special? I don't know, I'm just a normal guy who likes games and anime. Or maybe not. Well, I don't think so. I can't really communicate well with people because of something called "asperger's syndrome". In a nutshell, it makes me smart, but makes me crap at communicating with people because I don't really know what to say to most things, and it makes me have strange "habits". Why I didn't want to write my age is exactly this syndrome, because I'm somewhat smarter than people at my age, and I don't like being judged. There may be a few other things too, but that's all I'm going to share here. If my grammar was bad or weird, it's because I'm still studying, but I'm trying. Thanks for reading :)

Yay, time to feed the stalkers. :D

I'm a 19 years old Eastern Canadian guy. I like computers, video games, and crazy theories (time travel, teleportation, life, death, rainbow-pooping unicorns) although I usually keep my crazy thoughts to myself when I'm alone and only have my mind to keep me occupied (like, you know, when I'm in the shower or something).

My pastimes are gaming (obviously), Steamgifts (even more obvious), composing, and crying reading (mostly manga books lately). I'm not an outgoing person, don't have IRL friends, rarely even go out, and I would go as far as call myself introverted (although I sometimes wished otherwise).

I don't watch TV or TV shows, rarely ever watch movies. I'm rarely "with it" and keeping up with the trends and stuff, so more often that not, I won't catch a movie/TV show reference. And no, I never watched ANY TV show (unless a few web-series and anime counts?), never watched Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Pulp Fiction, etc.

My favorite type of music is EDM, electronic, chiptune, you get the hint. I don't really like lyrics in my music. I don't have a favorite artist, though I really like TheFatRat and Panda Eyes.

I currently work part time as a "Content Specialist" (which is basically a fancy way of saying "social network moderator") for a pretty large fast food chain in Canada. Although I'm being paid minimum salary, I like my job so far. Sometimes when it's busy (during the holidays was a nightmare) it's really hard, but when it's quiet I can read, write, or even sometimes play a game (if it's not something that is too distracting). Also, I get to work completely from home, so... fuck yeah.

Aaaaand I guess that's it. I haven't really revealed anything that I haven't mentioned here on the forum before.
Yeah, I'm a pretty regular and boring person. :P
