This -- Some of the best games ever made. Play them.

Well they can't be linked. After all, there was a Deus Ex game between the original and HR that a lot of people seem to forget about: Deus Ex: Invisible War

Project Snow is not related.
It started off as a Deus Ex, but the name got dropped because it didn't play as a Deus EX game.
Plus when it was still under development as a Deus Ex game you were going to play as Paul before the events of the first game.

Yep, Human Revolution is a prequel. It's mostly independent plot-wise, but if you pay attention to the details, it does set up the background for the original DE.

Anyway you should play Human Revolution. Period. And that's David Sarif telling you to do so.

Side steal question - After I bought the 10K credits DLC with the other items, is there any way to go back to mission 1 to take them and come back to the current mission I am on now?

The original Deus Ex is from 2000, and it looks the part. If you're willing to play old games, you can find a mod to pretty things up slightly, but it's still possible to play without it. Also, Deus Ex is on many "best pc games of all time" lists for a reason, it's really really good... :)
If you do play both you will see how they are connected, but it's mainly extra flavour stuff for the fans. You don't need to have played Deus Ex (or Invisible War, which is the often-ignored second game) to enjoy Human Revolution. Both are great, but if you're not a big fan of ancient games I'd say skip the original, and jump right in to Human Revolution.
p.s. There's a "pacifist" steam achievement if you finish the game without killing anyone - it's not Call of Duty. If you want to run around shooting everyone you can, but you'll be missing the point... :)

True that. On it's own it's not a bad game, but it fails as a sequel by over simplifying the RPG aspects and having level designs that don't make stealth an interesting option. On the plus side, it's the only game in the series where you can lock yourself out of one or more entries depending on the choices you make during the story.

I agree. IW is, on it's own merits, a good game; however, as other people have said, it fails as a sequel to the original Deus Ex. One of the things I liked about IW, though, was that it did feel like it gave you more "freedom", to say so; unfortunately, this got kind of ruined by the end (not gonna clarify since it'd involve some serious spoilers).

Are Dues Ex Human Revoliution and the original Deus Ex related? Because I have HR in my backlog and I'm not sure to play or not to play.
