Why are people so uptight about the beta keys?

The problem is that it is against the rules. Nobody is flaming the Dinner Date giveaway.

Because people like you can't seem to comprehend the meaning of rules.

I can't just go and create 20 skyrim giveaways, because I don't own the game, it's against the rules to do so. If the beta key rule can be broken, pretty much every rule can be.

I'll just copy my opinion from the other thread:
Tbh the admin/mods should add beta giveaways to the list like Nexuiz, SMNC, etc and set the price to ZERO. So ppl wont whine about it and those who missed those giveaways can still get one if they are interested. Just saying....

This may blow some minds, but not everyone here is just waiting to jerk off over how many points we get so we can enter all the giveaways in the world.

That's because the beta keys are not the whole game; when the game comes out most likely you'd have to buy it again. Therefore it doesn't make sense that:

• your entry costs points
• and that sometimes, the giver doesn't mention that it's a beta key.

Okay, a lot of you are confused as to why beta keys are not allowed. It is not because we hate betas but love Valve (though the latter is true). It's because have you seen the Lucid and Fairie Solitaire spam? Did you see the (Super) Monday Night Combat spam? The site would get flooded with beta keys that people got for free, making it a mess to find a giveaway of actual worth. Making them all worth 0P does not solve this problem. It's the same reason individual keys from the Humble Bundle et all are banned, because otherwise we'd have page after page after page of nothing but the same worthless game. Dota and CS:GO are allowed because there are so few of them (relatively speaking), compared to the previously mentioned games where there's literally thousands of them, most seeming to find their way here.

It's only a BETA key....

Worth nothing, therefore the giveaways are invalid and the people making them should be banned
