A few days ago I made my GA public and I got that key from LootBoy, almost 60% of my GA got from LootBoy and I am sure about it, But the winner said that the key is already activated in another steam account, how can I trust what said by the winner. How to find out who the key is activated on steam account and can we find out the IP address..?

Lootboy keys are known to often be dupes, so no surprise here. As for your question, steam support used to tell you the date of key activation, but they seem to stop doing that now. Noone will ever tell you the account it was activated on as well.

There is no way to do so (no one can do it - Steam or Lootboy cannot check who activated that key).
You can ask winner to delete GA and write to Lootboy's support and they will add 100 diamonds to your account or provide a new pack for you (they will not replace key)

I think Zen has already lost the chance to delete the giveaway ... already straight up called the winner a liar.

You think 60% non dupe keys is good enough to just say that the winner is a liar? :)

Yes you made that clear already.

The point is you flat out called them a liar .... a mod could even suspend you if SG had stricter policies in place (it would fall under a category of flaming).

You could of just posted this topic and got people's opinions but you because of your post it makes YOU look like an irresponsible and impolite person.

  1. lootboy may occasionally provide invalid keys.
  2. regarding Steam keys, if you have the game you tried to transfer in your library, I think it is possible to check if it is an unredeemed one by entering the activation key from the Steam web page.

As for 1, you can contact SUPPORT based on the message content at the stage where you tried 2 and ask them to exchange it for a different key or lot.

If both 1 and 2 are too much trouble, there is a group that agrees to delete the GA if Lootboy's key is invalid.
You may want to take advantage of them.

Enjoy your rite of passage. Unfortunately, that's the con of doing giveaways. I had that happen to me at least 3 times with recent keys from reputable official stores. :/

A couple of times I came across the fact that the keys bought in official stores (for example, Humble Bundle and Fanatical) were activated. This is especially true for very old keys.
So how can you be 100 percent sure of a lootboy key?
PS: In theory, if you are amazingly sociable, you will be able to find out from Steam support the date and time when the key was activated. But you need to be extremely persistent and very talented to do this (I once did this to get a refund from a gamergate, by the way, also an official store). Time and date. They will never be able to tell you more.
However, this is quite complicated and in your case does not make much sense. So just replace the key if you can or ask to delete the giveaway.

That's the risk you take giving away keys you gotten for free (and even on keyreseller sites this can happen)

And even putting a disclaimer up like let me allow to delete this key hold no stake, you could only count on a goodwill of the winner to delete the giveaway.

Or join groups that have a rule stating you have to agree to it, so the unwilling winner will get removed from the group at the very least. See this group, which users add frequently together with the lootboy group.

There is a good reason why everyone uses the lootboy group when giving away keys from that site concidering they are often dupes. Ask winner if its Ok to have the GA removed or enjoy your not recied if you dont want to buy a new key from somewhere else.

You can't know, sadly all you can do is just believe him and either ask him if he is okay with you get the giveaway removed (though calling him a lier won't help with that), replace the key yourself by buying the game, or just receive a not received and move on.
Normally if you buy from an official keyseller, you can contact them for a new key, Lootboy on the other hand, most likely won't give a new key.
Sadly Lootboy is known for giving duped keys, never had that issue myself when I used it but the chance is higher than from a seller.

If you check the Lootboy thread you'll see many people get duplicate keys, especially nowadays, so it is totally plausible the winner tells the truth.

How can you check if it's true? Steam support can tell when was a key activated, so you could ask them to check it for you. From what I've heard they actually used to answer people (albeit only a few times per person).

But anyway, if you have trust issues with users and / or with Lootboy keys, then simply just don't make public giveaways (with those keys). There are at least two groups which are used for giving away dubious keys.
