no, there's only 3 main hacking groups, but poodle corp and lizard squad kind of teamed up now. The biggest DDOS attack in a history was made by a single man this year, 1,5 month ago, when he ddos server where Sony PSN, Twitter, Twitch, Spotify and so on based on. You can imagine the bandwidth you need to take down a server provider like this. All done by only one guy and he was mad on PSN!
All you need is a program to make a ddos attack and server. you can ping any website on your command promt and you will get a server's ip.

Traditionally, a hacker was someone who just attempted entry (either for challenging themselves or for intentionally testing security elements), while a cracker was one who attempted entry for unlawful gain or damaging effect. The meaning has become a bit muddled since, between programmers using the term hacker in a general (and positive) way, and the media using it in a general (and negative) way.
But if you change your phrasing to "crackers/cracking" then yes, it does imply that. On the other hand, this is still primarily based in a network security issue on Valve's end, so even if the approach is simplistic, the general concept of application is still the same.

Just...why. What's the point? The guy talks about targeting COD and PSN and Xbox too. I don't see what he hopes to accomplish. Though to be fair if this is the third year in a row, those services should really see it coming and add extra security measures around this time of year.

Piggyback edit: is this why I failed a check on sgtools? It said my profile was private or I had unactivated wins but neither are true. Unless a key I won was revoked without my knowledge, but I can't check that until steam is back up
