God is an Astronaut is a good instrumental band, they use vaguely similar melodic elements to what you have posted at times, though generally a lot more ambient themed and less emphasis on the guitar, so it might not be quite what you are looking for.

Buckethead would be about as close as I could think of, for instrumentals. Padmasana sounds similar to the intro and other stuff he has, like Nottingham Lace, sound like the rest of the cover. By no means perfect, but a good instrumentalist, if you are looking for one that is somewhat similar.

Gates of Gnomeria - Andy Mckee This is instrumental fingerstyle guitar and is not rock-like but rather mellow. However, I think you'd enjoy it.
