I saw a guy minutes ago creating giveaways of games he doesn't have. He registered less than an hour ago, so I guess he doesn't have the gift, and created the giveaway by mistake.

He may give away keys.

more often than not, people think games are magically created and that they need to borrow the game generator from support.

This and he deleted them. In 20min he maxed his giveaway limit and can't do anything anymore.

Sucks to be him.

not really. If he was at least somewhat bright, he would have created just one to see what would have happened. At the very least, he should know that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

You don't think it sucks for him that now he can never create a legit giveaway? All those .$01 contributor giveaways will be forever out of reach. Yeah, I think it sucks to be him at least a little. Granted he's probably an idiot and might have never created a legit giveaway anyway but now he'll never have the opportunity. Fine by me.

well when you see that someone registered 15 minutes ago and immediately puts up giveaways for AC III and AoE III complete pack, I would say that is a big red flag right there.

I asked him in Spanish if he understood that he had to provide the games and give them to the winner, and he subsequently deleted the giveaways, so yeah...

Sounds like he thought that by creating them; that he was going to get the games hisself from users giving them to him. Which is just stupid at best if he really thinks you can just ask people to give you the game. He should of used his head and figured out that this is like a lotto. People put up a game to give, and people enter to win the draw.

You would think that would be common sense even if they are a non-English speaker. But some people are dumb though, what can I tell you...

Yes, you do.

And you lose them again when the giveaways get deleted.

If you're asking then I don't think so.
If you're stating it then I still don't think so.

When a giveaway gets deleted, the ones that enter receive their points back.

Hrm, if the points are removed when the giveaways are deleted, can you go negative? I've never seen my own points go negative, but it could just be that I was never in a situation to notice.

which is exactly what makes me think that maybe any point(s) generated are not taken back

I don't believe so, I deleted a giveaway that I had set the time on wrong. No one had entered it yet because it was deleted so fast. When I deleted it, it said that everyone who entered it would get there points back.

So yes you would get your points back, however I don't think you can go over the 300 points cap. So if your account has 300 points and a giveaway your entered into gets deleted; you will not get the points. But if you only got like 5 points, then yes your points should be returned to you.

Yes you can go over 300. If you were at the cap and a 60p giveaway you had entered was deleted you'd be at 360 points.

ah thats good to know, I was just guessing with the 300 cap limited that you couldn't go pass it no matter what. Thanks for clearing that up.

But you loose it when he deletes the fake giveaway, right? Otherwise that may be considered a bug, since people can abuse from it.

Yup, no net gain. At least he deleted them and didn't let them go out and disappoint someone.

I'm not sure about this one way or the other, but if the point generation is not rescinded then it seems to me it would have made more sense to have points be generated when a giveaway ends, or even when a gift is marked as sent or received, and not when the giveaway is created. That being said, it probably doesn't matter much in the grander scheme of things.

A user can make only a certain number of giveaways either fake or delete them in order to create points. After a certain number he won't be able to make any more.

Also the creator doesn't receive points for giveaways himself created.

thanks, but yes, I am aware of those things.

The points you gained from the giveaway are taken away. Since this is 5% of the game cost, this is likely a point or two for most games.

If you entered the fake giveaway though, the points spent on it are returned to you. You don't lose them.

My impression was that the fractional points we receive are NOT removed.

Well at least he deleted them without asking to subscribe to his youtube channel. But on the matter of Not Received, I think the people should receive -game value from doing that.
