S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Lost Alpha leaked test build has scuttled any chance of it being officially released

I thought the title said STALKER 2 for a second. Not sure why.

Think they will still release it, probably just a small publicity stunt to get more attention to the game.

It looks like it's still going to be released, but I feel pretty bad that this happened.

Yeah this seems silly, probably just a stunt, Microsoft didn't not release Halo 2 when it was leaked months beforehand, neither did anyone else ever, plus isn't this just as well? Now its free, probably would not have been much different, they even said they are still gonna work on it and complete it...

well it's bad GSC won't allow them to sell it, yet it's good that GSC won't get the profits coming their way either. i don't think it's even a company anymore, just that one guy who fired everyone after cancelling STALKER 2. i think we can all agree he can go rot in hell for all we care.

Wow that pisses me off. I've been waiting for that mod for years and had high hopes for the standalone release.

I actually played the STALKER SoC build 1935 that exists, and I quite enjoyed it. You can only play for about 5 minutes before it crashes, but it is really fun.

Pfft .. drama. Leaks didn't stop Crytek and Valve from releasing their games commercially after high profile leaks.

Been patiently waiting for Lost Alpha for a long time, but I won't ruin it for myself by playing a leaked version. Roll on 26 April.

Can't wait to play it but it's disappointing that their deal with GSC fell through due to the leak.
