Ok so I just saw this ad on steamgifts as you can see.

Now I don't really know how to go about this but, I always thought those "Russian/Asian/Mormon/Grill near you" were scams to get people out of some money. Has anyone here ever used those sites (from ads like these) to say otherwise? Because if it is a scam I think it is really low to target disabled people....

And also from the ad I put above, what do you think that girl has as a disability, would they post an undisabled girl just for the guy population or what?

Get adblock and leave the casuals without it to deal with such things.

Ads are the only thing supporting this site. SG isn't some huge corporation, without ads there would be no website.

Those ads take a lot of time to load, especially for those having a low bandwidth like me.

If it's a major problem, you could always consider using an Adblock plugin.

As others have said though, these help pay for the server, and CG's augmentations/upgrades, so don't take this step lightly :)

Ads are rarely chosen by the website. They usually come from an ad network and can be pretty random.

As for the ad, yeh that's kinda tasteless :P Seems to be playing disabled people up as a fetish or something.

I once read something that said there are some dating sites that advertise the same site in various ways, targeted to whoever is looking at it. So for you seeing an ad mentioning disabled people, someone else might see an ad mentioning people over 40, someone else would see an ad mentioning some random category based of their browsing history etc. If signing up they'd all actually end up at the same site, just under a different 'skin' and there'd be allsorts of people there, not just the type of person mentiojned int he ad you originally clicked on.

I don't know if this is one such site/ad and I'm not even sure what it has to do with the price of fish noew I've typed that.

Just because it's an ad related to finding a relationship doesn't automatically make it a scam. Primarily aimed at taking your money? Yes. But most likely not a scam.
