It's pretty common to see Payday at $4.99 (happens on Amazon frequently enough) and with the DLC coming, I'll bet it'll have a "with the DLC" option soon for slightly more. You might break even, but unless you have friends (or us! :D) to gift it to in case trading doesn't work out, I'd say go for the single pack. Or rather... see if anyone wants to go in on a 4-pack with you now. I'd rather discuss trading over at SteamTrades, but in short: if you're reasonable and patient, it's not too hard (I usually wait for someone to post what I want rather than make offers myself).
