Currently reading The Runaway King.
Just finished The False Prince and immediately continuing on. Even tho it's a little predictable at times (it's a middle grade fantasy), I'm really enjoying this series.

Let's see in the past month I...
Finished Trekonomics
Q-Space Book one of a trilogy and it's serviceable, does exactly what I expected.
Started rereading the entire Honor Harrington series to catch-up since I haven't ready any in about....14 years. Totally awesome "wet-navy-in-space" books though.

Still working on my re-read of the Honor Harrington novels.I figured I should link to Baen's website where you can DL and read many of their novels including the first HH novel absolutely free. I also just recently finished Star's End, the final book in Glen Cook's Starfishers Trilogy. He's better-known for The Black Company series but this trilogy proved the man is as adept at hardcore grim SF as at modern fantasy.Although the first book, Shadowline, is still my favorite, this and the second book Starfishers sort of reads as a duology.
I'd love to see a world where Croaker and Mouse get together and swap stories.Written from the late '70s to '82, this trilogy is a template for the current trend of "grimdark" stuff that seems to be all the rage these days.
Also got Naomi Novik's Uprooted finally and look forward to telling Monu exactly what I think of it, once I'm ready for more fantasy novels.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. This book trilogy has been on my backlog for too many years. Decided to get done with it by this September. Problem is, lack of time. So, reading a few pages every day, I expect to end the trilogy early 2017. ;) keep on reading! Very much needed habit.

Not too much at the moment, I recently finished the a first Volume of collected Asimov short stories (very good), right now I'm sporadically working on a selected collection of Lovecraft short stories, Star Wars X - Wing Rogue Squadron (yay for cheap kindle books), and a manga (Skip Beat)

I'm about 150 chapters in, I like it a lot although it can sometimes be hard to follow all the different texts on the screen (there are texts for dialogue, thoughts, narration, and some others). it can be hard to follow the thoughts through when you're switching between the different types of text on page...if that makes sense. the story itself is fun, and the characters are a lot of fun, especially Kyoko (protagonist)

Currently finished "The Fool's Errand" by Robin Hobb and am moving on to the next book in the trilogy
It's an older book, but very well done. There are several trilogies that are in chronological order that are all the same story: Farseer (1st set of 3), Liveship Trader Series (2nd set of 3), The Tawny Man Series (3rd set of 3 which is what i'm in atm).
It's very long, very nicely paced, good stories, interesting concepts. Some people also refer to it as something to read/listen to if your having a depression about not being able to watch Game of Thrones/need something a bit similar. (though since I've never seen GOT doesn't apply to me).

there are constantly threads for music, movies, and games, but so little love for the written word!
I'm currently reading Uprooted by Naomi Novak. I thoroughly enjoy her Temeraire series and I highly recommend it to anyone who is remotely interested in historical fiction (even if you don't it's worth looking into).
update: Now reading "Blood and Iron" by a local author
