That way, instead of posts looking like this:

...they look like this:

Makes things easier for all of us, right?

Do you agree with my suggestion?

Yes
What?

I've been saying it since the very beginning. Unfortunately, suggestions are rarely taken into consideration on SG, if at all.

I think they are probably taken into consideration, but I'm guessing there is only 1 person working on the site without much time to work on it. I don't know how much profit is made from running the site, but I'm guessing it's not a whole lot. The limited time that is available to work on improving the site probably goes to more important things that keep it running. That is just my guess.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that there is no profit in running this site. I'd guess it is a negative sum game.

I am aware of that fact, but I don't see how it would make sense for cg (and anyone involved) to take suggestions into consideration if there is no plan to implement any of the suggestions (that the community have been making for years, now) in the first place. Sure, some of them have been implemented, but they are few and far - it almost seems pointless that the forum even has an option to categorize as "Bugs / Suggestions". :P

Perhaps I'm just a bit salty over most of the great suggestions I've seen posted (and the ones I've also posted) never making it on SG, so I've been forced to rely on userscripts which, thankfully, manage to do what vanilla SG can't.

I assume it’s a technical challenge. Or it would have already been done long ago.

This would be a nice feature. I have written many posts in the past where I wanted to post pictures inline when I mentioned them, but instead had to post them all bunched together at the end. This can get annoying because you then have to reference the images in the text.

Two years ago Yirg already made a topic about this..
https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/WTZ5k/having-images-always-appear-at-the-bottom-of-posts-behind-view-attached-image-is-counterproductive

I'm all for it, would increase readability (if used right)

I figured someone would have already said "just use ESGST" or "ESGST can do that, why do you need it on the site?" by now. But I was wrong!

Just use ASF!

..hang on, wrong topic. ..then again, I suppose that's never stopped that reply before.
Maybe something about warthogs, then?

In fairness, since the intent involves affecting users without the script, a script wouldn't really functionally work for this concept, so it's something that actually has to be handled site-end. Unless the ESGST users start killing off the rest of us, I guess. Well, I suppose it was only a matter of time.

cg,

this is something we'd really appreciate.

like a... Steamgifts gift.

true <3

(yesterday a friend met here, asked me "who's cg". so if you don't know who cg is, take a look below for his avatar, so now you know how he looks. he also created, still creates and will create SG for all of us)

While I think it's a good idea, I doubt it will ever rank very high on the site's priority list since it's a "quality of life" improvement, and improvements to the site's basic functionality (i.e. the recent changes due to the GDPR) will always take priority.

Any cosmetic changes to the site would depend entirely on how much time CG has after dealing with other more serious concerns.

workaround

Well, yeah, I knew that workarounds exist, but this is kinda so we wouldn't need workarounds, you know? (also, each post would need to be a reply to the previous one lest other people's replies separate your message, like so).

EDIT: ninja'd.

It would certainly be cool but it's not an easy change typically. Attachments are a separate thing from the contents of a post, so it's not a simple matter of moving them to be inline but rather the more complicated change of making a post contain images at all.

Things like this are likely to happen only if / when a major rewrite of the entire site happens.
