That's just sad...Glad i wasn't part of any of those idiotic groups.

I actually found your comment rather childish. I also find it to be rather inappropriate as you clearly intentionally posted that to get some sort of negative reaction from him, because if you truly wanted to avoid his GAs you would just not look at them.
Also, I will add that, based on everything I read about the whole situation, it seemed to me that it was in equal parts Salz's and the developer's fault for what happened. But, if you want to continuously antagonize a person for a mistake they made months ago, then be my guest.

I'm sure SteamGifts might do something along those lines in the future, or at least improve their blacklisting system. I just don't see what good will come of antagonizing him. He's not going to change his stance about what he did. Also, he's already in a heap of trouble (or was), so I just don't see the sense in it, it's basically beating a dead horse. (Also, I just mean that one e-mail chain that both are at fault, I'm still reading up about the other allegations against him.)

Hey Mush,
I think the point is that Salz's basic MO is to get free codes from dev's in order to promote their games here BUT when all this crap hit the fan, everyone became aware that his method of obtaining all these free keys is to promise "positive" reviews by his "staff". When a dev refused to give him free codes, he promised to write "negative" reviews in order to punish the dev.
So while this incident may have happened several months ago, it does not detract from the fact that Salz continues to work this scam - and it is a scam - on other developers. And it points out that with the promise to write "positive" reviews, then the whole concept of reviews as basis to decide on a purchase is basically crap and can't be trusted at all.
On a personal level, I do not want to contribute to Salz's scam and I don't want his GA's in my face on a daily basis. However, I have not been successful in getting blacklisted so, yeah I just ignore them. But as Khalaq so eloquently stated in the other thread,- whose knows who said it first or best - you decide - ultimately, what Salz is doing is wrong. By the continued bump of this and the other thread, others become educated as to his particular form of evil-doing. And while I agree that you may not view it as particularly awful, others may and they have a right to make their own decision. :-)

I never said I didn't see what he supposedly did as wrong. I just said in the particular instance that started this whole incident that both parties seemed to be somewhat at fault based on what I read and the information I had accrued.
Now, don't get me wrong, assuming that all of the allegations against him are true, I would view what he did as immoral. I have seen much of the evidence against him and am skeptical about much of it (e.g. Steam chats can be easily faked) and user testimonies do seem to coincide with each other, but, this is the Internet and I can't fully judge what a person is saying as I don't know, nor can I see, any of them in person. However, I have not read many testimonies so far so I will not judge whether or not they are true.
For now, my stance is that he did make some very huge mistakes, but I will not burn him like a witch until I have gathered enough information to be confident in such a decision. Also, I am fine with him being on SteamGifts and will not harass him, the main reason being that the site administration seems to be okay with his presence, otherwise they would have probably banned him by now. Either that, or they're still deciding on what to do.

Well I agree that each person needs to make their own personal judgement but the posted emails by the developer who refused to sign up for Salz's PR work (gimme free keys and mah peeps will write good reviews for your game), appeared very real to me. Furthermore, the additional commentary by Salz himself - angry, self-righteous, etc., left a pretty clear impression of a guy that thinks what he is doing is perfectly fine and is in no way "wrong" or "immoral". Further reading in this thread, added another facet with former "review writers" who thought they were doing a positive public service (albeit with the recompense being a free game code) by writing extensive and fair reviews but ultimately were harangued into changing their reviews to "negative" by any developer that refused to meet Salz's demand for free codes. Throw in the "you can only be a mod if you stay in chat" etc... yeah :-(
Am I gullible? Perhaps. Have I made an unfair assessment of Salz? Maybe. But the weight of evidence posted by those who've dealt with him and the general crappy tone with which Salz communicates, convinced me that he's not doing this "free PR" from the goodness of his heart. He's just some sleazy guy that found a way to get a lot of free codes/game, raise his SG level at no cost to himself and generally increase his e-peen on the interwebz.
So until SG implements a "block user", if they ever do - and not saying they should... I'll just ignore the guy's GA's since thus far, I have not been blacklisted by him...

cliffs: Salz is a criminal. Intelligent people avert your energy away from the lame duck.

You are entitled to your opinion, but SteamGifts was never intended to be a platform from which to organize a boycott. In the interest of curtailing both (angry) sides of the fight from battling it out in SG, I am closing this thread.

Ok, so they've been active here and I followed them for a while, but unfollowed after this - https://twitter.com/hugh_jeremy/status/605858569221636096/photo/1
TL;DR They use bad reviews as threat to get free steam keys.
