thanks for the suggestion but i've never done a group buy and frankly I just don't trust it enough to even figure it out. considering I'm getting 5 games i dont mind the Β£3 price since that is cheap for these games especially since all the $15 ones are up there

I was a little iffy about it as well at first but figured I'd give it a go and found a person from Europe who's very reliable. I mean, you can always check someone's reputation because people who don't deliver for example won't really survive in the group buy group. Usually, you'll always see the same people making the group buys so it's easy to just pick one who's done a lot already with positive feedback and stick with that person then you don't have to worry. :) But again, whether you give it a go or not is totally up to you, just figured that I'd share some more information about it.

Well damn, missing just 3 games. Might buy though, HOGs are so expensive, getting 3 for 4 bucks sounds alright :)

Edit: Alright, nope. Can't pay with credit card unless I create a PayPal acc. What the actual fuck, IndieGala?

Have someone problems with the payment options at Indiegala ? Special from germany.

I want to pay, like always, with a credit card but it always open Paypal.....
Thats very annoying !

I checked all payment options and only the WeChat Pay links to something else (Webmoney). All other ones work normal -_-

How do people usually track when Happy Hour happens?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

There is a script for that but you only need to visit Indiegala on a daily basis and quite often the HH is also announced in the according SG topics.

i was sure they removed the idiot tax on that site but it seems like they didn't.
4$ do not turn into 4.50€ in my book. 4$ or 0$, screw them.

edit: for some reason regular store items show prices in € with tax included.
bundles show their prices in $ and get tax added on top.
what a mess. no wonder i usually never buy there.

Hi,
i have a problem to pay with a Visa Card for the Bundle.
When i click on it, it opens the Paypal payment.

Only the WeChat Pay links too to a other one (Webmoney), all other link to the right payment possibilities.

I don't use Paypal, and will never use it, so it is absolutly NO OPTION for me to pay with PP.

Please send me a working link to pay with a Visa card, i used it at all the buys in the past, or fix the problem at your page.

Thanks and friendly regards

Masafor

We apologize for the inconvenience, it is a momentary disservice and we will have credit cards again in a few days.

I'm fairly sure they will restore the payment option, there is no reason for them to lie about that. ;)

May I ask why you refuse PayPal? Bad experience?
PayPal is so convenient for me that I don't understand people avoiding it.

Some people want to give all the shady shops online their CC info to abuse I guess.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah right :D
But some may not be even fully aware of the risks when CC info is being shared with webshops. ;)
It doesn't need to be a shady shop at all to put your data at risk, even legit but insecure shops are equally dangerous in case of being hacked.
PayPal seems to me the lesser evil, or you just could as well use a prepaid CC for shops which doesn't accept PP.

Different reasons but i try to hold me short.
I am one of that people that read AGB's (Terms & Conditions) FULLY before they sign something.
I have done that at Paypal as they were created and at that time 36 (if i remember me right -sorry its many years since they started there business-) other "companies and institutes" got your datas. As examples: CIA, FBI, National Homeland Security, US Tax federal and and and and.
And they can sniffing around at your bank account not only at the moment you pay with PP, nope they can do it everytime they want.
For what they use all your datas, bank account infos, what you buy and and and not counted in.
I don't think that is handled now in a "lighter/easier" way since all that terrorism and such stuff.

And i don't support such "trade practics" to make it very short.

When i give my datas freely and knowingly it is a difference to "whenever the company wants and to whichever/whatever they want to give it too".

Thanks for your reply, and there is a truth to what you've said. I just had a look and found a list of 3rd party companies and institutions, which PayPal shares data with. :o

Protip: your bank already shares much more than PP ever could. So the CIA will know I bought some games, whatever will they do with this crucial information. Posting here that you bought the bundle will give them the exact same information.

Look at the link above and you really try that i or my bank give to all of the listed ones, without PP use, all my datas (name, adress, email and maybe bank acoount infos) ?
I don't think so.

That you can't hide such stuff from a spy network (CIA, FBI and so on) is clear.
But i don't be willing to give my datas to all and everyone. The "few" that can get it without my permission should work for it (if they really need them :-D)

Look at the purpose column, it clearly explains why the information is shared. Those on the list are the ones who have some kind of contract with PP to allow you to use your bank with PP, verify identity to protect against fraud and so on. It's more about silly money laundering laws affecting innocent people than any kind of real spying.

Unless you find proof that they automatically share all information with everyone, I still find this a bit of over reaction. Not using some commonly used service is a clear red flag in the NSA database, you must have something to hide and require closer inspection. :P

Look numbers 6. "Marketing and Public Relations" and 9. "Commercial partners"
It is throwing all your infos in the wild (looks like ebay really want them)
I agree that PP is doing the same as a regular national bank for all the legal stuff etc.
But it's a little more than that.

So they are using some companies to spam marketing emails and surveys, still don't see that as any kind of big deal as long as you can opt out of them. I'm all for targeted marketing when it actually works, but sadly I just get spam for useless crap, not deals on catgirls :(

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Since I only use the things I really need, I get (almost) no spam, I don't know if targeted marketing is good or not, maybe people love it, I just don't care and prefer doing my business alone. There are ads everywhere in our lives, so for me it is: the fewer the better.

Those institutions can already get the information they want directly from your bank while PayPal has absolutely no way to sniff anything there other than you giving them access to your card. So you should be not using any money at all instead of not using PP if you want no government sniffing of your affairs.
