Soo better get around doing stuff with the Origin keys you have possibly left... Got this email...

We are reaching out to let you know that you purchased but have not yet redeemed game keys for Electronic Arts (EA) titles that are no longer available on the Humble Store. You have until March 18, 2022 at 5:00 pm PDT to redeem any EA or Origin keys before they become invalid. (Please note this only affects Humble Store purchases, and does not impact EA games purchased as part of a bundle or Humble Choice.)

Also:

If your Humble account and Origin account are linked, we will automatically attempt to redeem your keys on the linked account on March 17 at 3 p.m. PDT (limitations may apply). You can check your account linking status in your Settings

Unfortunately, we can no longer provide any keys or refunds on Humble Store purchases of EA titles after the March redemption deadline has passed.

Please read the help article below for any additional information:

https://support.humblebundle.com/hc/articles/4512775901083
We are immensely sorry for any issues this may cause and the short timeframe provided. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our >Customer Support team, who will be happy to assist further!

Statement from Fanatical courtesy by SketCZ:

Due to events outside of our control, Fanatical will no longer be offering EA titles on our fast-growing store.
So please activate the EA games within your account before the 18th March 2022, as the link between Fanatical and Origin will be deactivated then. We apologise for the inconvenience.
If you have any questions, please contact support@fanatical.com. Thanks again for being an awesome supporter of Fanatical.

I just realized I had gotten STAR WARS™ Battlefront™ II: Celebration Edition for free from Epic. 🤦‍♂️

The giveaway was from 2021-01-14 to 2021-01-21.

Checked my Origin account. Not listed. Because I've never attempted to install it.

So to be on the safe side, I installed the game today. Now it is in my Origin library. There was a hiccup, the install seemed to hang but I was able to close Origin and restart the install from the Epic Launcher. Probably unnecessary to fully install, I just needed to do the install to link my Origin and Epic accounts and get the game added to my Origin library.

It was the only Origin game that Epic has given away.
Unlike other stores, Epic and Steam are still selling Origin games. So it's not going to be a problem for them? 🤷‍♂️
It's probably not an issue, but I felt it was safer to activate it on my Origin account before the deadline.🤞

THANK YOU!
This would not have occurred to me to do without your prompt. D/Ling now.

Update: as 3sunsgaming says below, a full install wasn't necessary. Just starting the install added the game to my Origins library. Done and dusted.

Thanks for the heads up on this. Full install was not necessary for me as once I click install on epic it went to origin login box even tho I had the Origin client open all ready it said I didn't have enough space to DL so, I canceled and it showed in my Origin Library.

Well, from what I understand this does not apply to EA games bought in a Humble Bundle or from Humble Choice. It applies only to games purchased in stores (fanatical, humble store, GMG, gamesplanet, gamersgate etc).

quote: Luckily, this doesn't impact EA games purchased as part of a bundle or these featured in Humble Choice

So better keep all those $1 origin bundles you bought 10 years ago. They might worth a fortune in the future, because those will be the only Origin keys available. Like steam keys from good games but delisted from Steam.
