I don't know. I kinda disagree with the bundles! The first two are not sold any more right? I think they should stay!

I believe the concern with the bundles is the fact that you can pay for the bundle and get a normal download, and then in addition get a Steam key to activate. So I guess the idea is people aren't really paying for the bundles they are giving out here in the first place (kind of like with the Dark Messiah MP spam)

I am no scientist, though, so I'm not sure

from my view its pretty much because bad apples ruined it, it can't be done.

You're probably right, but I don't think it's that big of a deal since all they're going to do is remove point generation. It seems that the bundles can still be offered and won

Well, I think you should differentiate between those who just give away a steam code and those who give away the whole Bundle. I started a give-away for the second Bundle, which includes the first one as well and I'm giving the whole thing (DRM-free versions, Steam keys, Desura keys and OnLive keys)

Humble Bundle Codes are for one person and one person only. People should not give away only steam, while keeping direct downloads for themselves or the other way around. You're doing it correctly by giving the entire thing to whoever wins. just saying.

However if they haven't been sent the code yet (or something, this was the case for me) they give you and only you complete access unless you choose to share it in anyway.

i don't think you should remove it for the humble bundles (1 and 2) because they're pretty rare

I've had someone suggest keeping point for all those already made, but preventing future bundles from generating points. I think that's a pretty good idea.

That seems pretty fair. It's a shame that a few people decided they wanted to take advantage of the HIB folks' generosity, but giving past gifters the benefit of the doubt seems like a good idea. I'd hate to lose a chance at a copy of the second Humble Bundle! Bastard thing escaped me when it initially rolled through!

Wouldn't it be fairer and easier to just forbid Humble Bundle, Steam key only, give-aways?
This isn't only a "grey area" like it is with Dark Messiah, it is illegal, since it's a single license.

bad apples have been abusing the single license distribution. e.g. redeeming some things, and spreading around the download links, or using the direct download then selling/trading/or gifting the leftover steam/desura/onlive keys. To state it clearly, if you have a humble bundle, the entire humble bundle is for you, one person. Steam keys, desura, onlive, and direct downloads that come with the link you get when buying humble bundle are yours and yours alone.

  • To be fairly gifting a humble bundle it should be entirely unused. At that point the community can only take your word for it because the direct links aren't tracked.

What about eets?

I was going to say the same thing. Eets has been similarly abused and needs to be added to the list.
