Sometimes different timezones make it so that your winner is asleep or in the busy part of their day while you are freely available and waiting for them to mark it as received.
Or sometimes they dont feel like doing it right away. It is frustrating but you get used to it

When the GA ends, you have 7 days to send the key and after that the winner has 7 days to mark it as received.

So what happens if you send a steam gift, they accept but don't write down that they've received the gift, is there an anti scam thing set for that sort of thing or? (Sorry for the possible silly question)

profiles need to be public.
first of all you can prove in your history that you gifted it to him .
second if he has the game activated and didnt click received ,you can make a ticket to fix the problem.

I guess your winner might be just as inexperienced as you are. Seems unlikely that anyone would try to scam you about Apewar. ;)
The best option to avoid such nuisances is to use level restrictions on your giveaway. I'd recommend that at least for your first experiences.

Also to add to what others have already said, if the winner does give feedback and not activate game on the steam account they won it on, they will get a suspension/ban so i would not worry about that too much.

How long do you guys usually wait for the winners to respond, I'm new to this whole charade and was curious since I like to reply fast or get replies back fast and the impatience in me is suffering the waiting game rn .
