Hello there, I need your help.

I have DLC key for Steam but don't know the name of DLC or base game. When I try to activate it, Steam just says ,,Activate base game first".
Is there any way to get info about what game should I activate? I think that it's rly stupid that Steam gives you no clue whatsoever.

Cheers

EDIT: possible solution

don't think so.
unless you ask someone who already own the base game and dlc... then steam would try to install the game :)

ASF will return a message of what the key is if the redeeming account doesn't own the base game

For example when I activate a key and all it has that I have the DLC, and there is no other option just to say okay, the system will have to check if I own the DLC. So the info is in the background, but not on the visible window. I guess that's where the magic tech stuff happens and I get a feedback from the bot of what the key is for.

If you first try to activate DLC, then activate real key from another game, Steam Client will too display name of DLC.

Same bug for first trying to activate duplicate code, then real code and it still shows duplicate code.

Basically it shows name for first key you tried after opening window.

(Region Locked, however won't send name, so it can't be displayed).

Steam Network includes that info in redeem response, Valve has just decided to not show it in official Steam client for some reason.
