A couple things....

Just a couple things I want to bring forward. First off, welcome if you're new to the site.

YOU CANNOT GIFT GAMES FROM YOUR LIBRARY

If you own it, you cannot gift it. A new copy must be purchased and 'Gift Copy' be selected. GLaPOS outlines a fantastic method for storing the keys in the forum.

These are free to obtain in a sketchy manner, and I wanted to know what people thought about people submitting them on here, as I have seen quite a lot of copies entered.

I'm fine with it. I tried to get it on my own, but I couldn't get the proxy to work. After a half hour of trying I gave up--felt like too much work. I don't want it enough to go through all that, but I'll throw some points toward one.

true, if I didn't have enough points for something couldn't I hypothetically spam the giveaway market with dozens, even hundreds of copies of Dark Messiah, Multiplayer only, while obtaining value, points, 100 feedback, and top giver accolades, at the same time? I'd argue that it looks to me that it's the most given away game in the history of the site. Even above Portal, which actually was given away for free for a short time.

by beating the game or one of their other games it would generate a free eet code. Then it could be done multiple times on different OS's or something. I forget the whole story, but when that exploit came out, suddenly Eets showed up for the first time on steamgifts and en mass.

I completely agree, once learning about an exploit that makes a game "Completely" Free to the giver and givee that should either be excluded or on a separate list that for free games or only generate 1 point and 1 point entry giveaway.

Honestly if the game isn't obtain in a legal or legit manner than it should not be gifted on the site for copy right reasons. Also the points that we receive from those giveaways are for games that barely anyone wants. Maybe 20-40 entries on them most of the time. My vote is for getting rid of them.

well, they are for a Polish web site, and you have to use a Polish proxy. They aren't intended for outside the promotional area.

They can be used, for an example, one of my friends has a friend in Poland, and he buys that polish magazine for him and there are keys in that magazine, a lot more keys than those on the site, so yeah...it can be used outside Poland and its 100% legit

A lot of people seem to know about the multiplayer keys and how to obtain them, but they still enter the submissions. I guess let them eat cake.

I dunno about the DM issue. I'd say someone with some more free time should look into it. If it's not legit, we shouldn't be hosting it here.

keys are legit, the manner in obtaining them is sketchy. The question is, with them being obtained for "free" should they have a value assigned to them? Especially why is that value being given as the value for the paid version, which includes singleplayer and multiplayer, when most if not all version given away on this site state they are MP only (meaning they got them from the polish site).

The keys themselves may be legit, but what are the circumstances surrounding being able to get them free? If it is some deal that is supposed to be region exclusive, or some other restriction, we probably shouldn't have them here.

It's a region locked exclusive but can be bybassed by using polish proxies. They were never meant to be used outside of Poland.

The thing with Steam is that they are known for wildly banning swaths of people who were gifted games that turned out to be illegitimate. For some reason they ban the giftee, and not the gifter. The worst part of the DM issue is that there is no way to prove someone else gifted it to you, because they just send you a key, and not a Steam gift.

Now technically these keys are legitimate and Valve has stated that winning or getting gifted foreign keys is legit. (This arose when all the Germans wanted American L4D) However, if Valve decides to start banning Steam accounts for it, a lot of people might get boned.
