So i've been trying to find some games to complete recently that are rather short to complete. By this I mean under 4 hours in length. In the last few days i've completed the vanishing of ethan carter and among the sleep. I'm looking for some more to complete preferably before GTA V comes out! Does anyone know of some games that are short to complete that I own in my steam library?

Oh and I also picked up The Old City Leviathan in the indie gala bundle today and that only takes like an hour to complete so i'm gonna play that one.

I've also put a vote up of a giveaway I will include of one of my bundle leftovers. I will put this up in roughly an hour or so.

edit: Well since you guys have been so helpful I decided to put up both the top rated games for giveaway. Thanks for the help guys!

howlongtobeat.com says 2 hours. That is a game that got lost in my steam library actually. Heard good stuff about that game so yeah i'll probably play that.

That's about how long it took me to beat it and get all achievements, I enjoyed it too!

Oh now that's just too easy :P Anyway I was hoping for some recommendations on good games as well!

Tobe's Vertical Adventure: Cute platformer, not many levels so it's a bit short. If you want to get all the achievements, you will need a co-op partner (not online).

QbQbQb: Same than Tobe, if you are going for 100%, you will need a local co-op partner (unless you are good at the game, and can handle to control both players at the same time) :p

Potatoman Seeks the Troof: This one is very short, it takes like 30 minutes to beat it. It's a good platformer.

LocoCycle: It took me like 5 hours to finish it and get all the achievements. The game is awesome, it has some FMV and they are really funny. I recommend it :D

Little Inferno: you just have to burn toys. It's a fireplace-simulator puzzle game (very good). Shouldn't take more than 4 hours to finish it.

LIMBO: Another short platformer game.

Diamond Dan: I played this one for ~12 hours and wasn't able to get all the achievements, but I think I beat all the stages. It's an underrated game, not many people know it.

Castle of Illusion: Again, it's a short platformer game. took me less than 4 hours to beat it and get all the achievements. Also it has Mickey! :D

Braid: Puzzle/platformer game. It's one of the best platformer I've ever played. I don't know how long it took me to beat it, since I played a DRM-Free version I got on Humble, and then I played on Steam and it unlocked all the achievements in 0,1h :/

Beast Boxing Turbo: Another short game. If you want to 100% it, you will have to grind a bit.

Back to the Future: There are 5 chapters and it takes around 2 hours to beat each one. If you are a fan of the movie, this is like a sequel of the movies (not sure if canon or not)

Adventures of Shuggy: Just like with Tobe, you will need a local co-op partner to 100% it. It's a good puzzle/platformer game.

EDIT: There are more short games in your library, but I don't want to make the wall of text bigger :P

Oh man thats a big list.
Tobes: Hmm reviews aren't to great with this one. Plus graphics really put me off. But it is only 2.5 hours long to complete. Not really sure about this one.

QbQbQb: Looks cool. Not bothered about 100% achievements in games really so not a big deal to me. Plus this game is only 1 hour to complete.

potatoman: Definitely gonna play this.

LocoCycle: Sounds like a fun story. May put this on hold for a bit but it's definitely going on the list.

Little Inferno: Completed this like 5 times now on various different consoles. I have no idea why it's so fun!

LIMBO: Completed this on Xbox.

Diamond Dan: Does look fun although pretty old graphics. HLTB says 4.5 hours. Going on list.

Castle of Illusion: Didn't realize this was so short. Aparently only 2.5 hours to beat. Definitely gonna play this.

Braid: Been meaning to play this for damn ages but somehow have never got round to it. Definitely need to play this one.

Beast boxing turbo: Not sure if its the type of game i'm looking to play at the moment really but might come back to it later.

Back to the future: The whole game is meant to take 12.5 hours at least to complete so havnt really got time for this one atm.

Adventures of shuggy: Horrible graphics put me off this one a bit to much.

Thanks for that list! :D

From your library, I would try Bad Mojo: Redux. It's a rather weird old game, played it back in the day and it's pretty short. Be advised though, this is not a remake, its the same game from 1996, so...

Oh yeah that was another game that got lost in my library. hltb says 4 hours to complete. And since its FMV i don't think it particularly matters that its not a remake. Gonna add that game to the list.

Trust me it's nothing to be proud of. I just have a little bit of an addiction of buying too many bundles and other games when on sale. You should be proud of being able to control yourself over all this time!

Well if I had any real money I would probably have been just as bad. :I

As I live in Denmark I pay an income tax rate called AM-bidrag of 8% before paying 37% "Real" tax then there is VAT being 25% and being a student does not help. But you know free access to all healthcare and social security systems in place is also kinda neat.

Although a little less tax and a few more games would be nice :D

Agreed! I've completed it twice now. Once on PS3 and once on PC. I have no idea why I felt so much sympathy for some small cubes! :P But it was damn amazing.

Yeah if you'd told me that of everything I played in 2014, my largest emotional reaction would be to a game about coloured rectangles, I'd have asked for some of whatever you were having.

But there it was.

Permalink

I know right. I went into that game expecting nothing but a typical standard platformer. I came out of it amazed and with so much emotion for some little rectangles! No game has ever surprised me so much!

Limbo, Silence of the Sleep (that one took me longer then 4h but I'm not very good at those type of games). Also, have you played to the moon's mini episodes?

Already completed limbo on Xbox. Howlongtobeat.com says 5 hours for silence of the sleep but it does look interesting so might add that too the list. And oh crap I completely forgot about the mini episodes. I need to get onto playing them right away! :P

After looking at your list, how about:

  • Dear Esther
  • Hamlet
  • Infected: The Twin Vaccine (I really liked how the hidden objects were handled in this one)
  • Obulis is quite good if you like physics-based puzzle games (I do) :D
  • The Swapper (FANTASTIC game!)
  • Year Walk

All of them going on the list apart from infected. Have no idea why I redeemed that game but I have literally no interest in it.

I can't believe you have all those games and you only played most of them for 3 or 4 hours each... Stunning O.o Anyways, I think you should just play a multiplayer game. I don't know, maybe some dota matches, or some CS GO.

Hero of the Kingdom is actually kinda fun and unique. It's a bit of hidden object (but not really), point-and-click, resource management, RPG, weird mix. It's just at 4 hours to complete, including all achievements.

Obulis takes way longer than 4 hours to finish. Don't listen to the other guy. <_<

Permalink

I have literally no interest in hero of the kingdom so don't really know why I redeemed it.

HLTB says obulis only takes an hour. I'm not looking to 100% it.

If you somehow managed to instant-solve and perfect-shot every level, maybe. That's not going to happen though. The levels beyond the tutorials take thinking through, and the physics are finicky to maneuver through.

But it's a fun little physics game to pick up and put down though, if you're not looking to 100% it. Same deal with some of the other puzzle games you have, like LYNE and Prelogate.
