I currently have around 400 games in my backlog (by games on backlog, i speak about games i don't have tested yet ...), i try to play one new game each daily but my backlog is still huge as hell ...

And you, how much you're backlog is full ?

How much games you still have in you're backlog.

View Results
0 Games : My backlog is empty
1-9 Games : Just a few games to played ...
10-29 Games : A little more games must still reasonable.
30-99 Games : Will take at last one month for trying all of them, but i could do it :)
100-299 Games : Will take at last three month for trying all of them, i don't lose hope ...
300-999 Games : Will take at last one year for trying all of them, one day, one day i will be empty ...
+1000 Games : My backlog was stronger than me ...

For my own mental well-being I'd rather not want to know.

Only a year to try 300-999 games? I wish I had that much free time.

One Year, because of trying one new game daily, (so 365 at total)
And that a minimum of course
And adding the fact that you're backlog can improve with news bundles ...

One of my problems is when I find a game I like, I might play it for many months. Currently going several weeks with Planet Crafter (early access). I don't game as much as many, but the days/weeks start adding up. I've realized I maybe get to 12 games a year if I'm lucky - at least with the types of games I find myself gravitating toward.

And there's nothing wrong with that, as long as you enjoy it.

First rule of backlog: don't talk about it.

Second rule? Don't think on his size because it can freeze you?

Let's just say if I become jobless one day and just play games all day, I would still need 4 to 8 years depending on how willing I am to become a full-fledged wizard.

Soo, yeah.

From my 620 games I have 132 unfinished games and 219 games I never started so yeah, backlog is to much :(
I did Complete/Beat 262 games though, it's something ^^

Because of free games adding like 500-600 games its a bit hard to tell. I've always been around the half way point and I've done quite a lot this year so about 700

All unfinished games are for me "my backlog" but it is in the end not important how many games are there.

I don't let a backlog pressure me and play when i want :o)

Good mood, no pressure, no guilt.

110.
+17 currently installed and in progress (some because continous DLCs or because sometime good to return to them)
+32 uncategorized, so don't know yet how many will be sorted to my "backlog" or to "not want to play" folder. (4332 in the "not want to play" folder atm:-D)

I don't understand why you would want to play your games like that. It sounds like you are starting a new game every day and just playing a short sample of the beginning and then moving on to a new game. How can you enjoy your games like that? I would not consider those games to be played. It sounds more like collecting tons of games you don't want and then putting a tiny bit of time into each so you can claim you played them.

From your recently played games on Steam for the past month, it looks like you have put less than an hour into 33 games. 10 of those having 0.1 or 0.2 hours which means less than 12 or 18 minutes.

I have a lot of games on my backlog, but I only collect games I am interested in playing. When I start a game, I try to play only one major story based game at a time so I can focus on it and any other games I play at the same time will be simpler games like arcade or platformers that don't have much of a story. Since my backlog of games I want to play is so big, I have a lot to choose from, so I try to pick a game that I am in the mood to play at the time to give me the best chance of enjoying the game. Sometimes I am in the mood for a very serious in depth story based game and other times I may just want to have fun in a simpler game. Sometimes I might have the time and dedication to take on a long 60-200 hour game and other times I may just want to play something short that can be completed in a day or 2, or maybe even a couple hours.

I try to complete just about every game I start because I enjoy playing my games. If I was really wrong about a game and it turns out to be really bad, I won't force myself to complete it, but out of the around 330 games I have played on Steam, I believe there is only 6 that I started and didn't complete.

Thanks, I can now just write +1 instead of an essay.
It's amazing to see someone who has 99% same attitude towards games :o

I have 1000+ games to beat, probably 2000+ quite soon if I keep up what I'm doing, but although it's gonna be a long ride, I'm gonna enjoy it as much as I can :)

yeah I know someone recently who is basically doing the same as op. Putting like 30 minutes into every game in their backlog so now its just a pile of unplayed games. Completing games are more important then playing them. You don't lose backlog by simply glancing at them

Like sallachim, +1 on all of that.
(Although I also somewhat obsess with 100%-ing my games, sometimes beyond the point of reason. OCD and all that stuff. ^_^' )

I know even a full lifetime won't be enough to beat the ~1000-1500 games I still have left to play, but I want to actually play the ones that I manage to get to. >.<

I don't understand why you would want to play your games like that -> First, i have a little lied, by " daily new games ", that also count games i have stop to play and go back it again, just i don't like to still be on the same game and i like to have a turn over, discover (or re-discover) a new game daily, in general i play 2-3 differents games / day.

From your recently played games on Steam for the past month, it looks like you have put less than an hour into 33 games. 10 of those having 0.1 or 0.2 hours which means less than 12 or 18 minutes -> I fact, i collecting games that i want to try (so pretty all games except horror / adult games / point and click and last AAA games because of price + don't know if my PC will be good enough), and i have get many of them during trade for a really cheap price (under 0.20 euros / games ...), so that pretty common that i pass a game because finally i don't like the game (Toy Road Constructor) / really too repetitive (Glow Fish) / too hard (Blazing Chrome) or will play it later (Kronos), and also some games that i have finish what i want in the game in a short time (Satazius or Bio Lab as a exemple, finish in 1 hours each), in general i go for the main game (the any% for speedrunner), i have never finish a game at 100% with all achievements ...
