Perhaps you would be interested in this script. It filters out the most common Thanks responses and shoves the users names into a single line per page, while the more unique comments are still visible.

My general rule is: if the creator writes an interesting description or asks a question, I will comment. I won't write down a default "thanks" just to increase the post counter.

I know what you mean. 'Thanks' doesn't even look like a word to me now because of steamgifts. I try to come up with something unique for everyone, but it's hard to still be fresh after a thousand comments. I feel bad about it because I realize that not everyone shares my view, but I usually don't say anything because I think no comment is still better than a cheap comment, like how getting no tip is better than a 1 cent tip.

Edit: I always read the description and answer anything that is asked.
