Only using a few: Favorites (actually using for want to play and playing at the moment), Betas & Demos, Completed, Half-Life & Mods, Multiplayer, New PC, Non Steam (for the few that I want to broadcast I play them), RPG Maker + the uncategorized Games. Also using hide function as a category of shame ^^

Other than the usual favorites and games, I got:
-Backlog: Only for those I paid.
-Completed: Doesn't solely mean on PC.
-F2P
-Indie Crap: Majority of Indie games go here. The ones I heard of are not instantly shoved here and I try not to put in games if they had some retail presence (those free game on DLH.net, Crash Time 2).

A mix between random names and the right genre. And then games that are on my side account.

More or less by genre. Reading these comments makes me feel like I went all kinds of category-happy, haha. Kind of an organized chaos.
I have 38 categories, including use of the Favorites at the top.
Favorites is just for favorites. Games that have near infinite replay value for me.
The three below that with the asterisks are for achievement purposes.
My favorite genres are set aside at the top, numbered 1-3 to semi-organize their "priority" in my life.
The one titled "Why do I own this" is for games like Goat Simulator.
At the very bottom is "Z - Multi" because I hardly touch my MP games these days. Need to be in a certain mood.
The rest are pretty self-explanatory. :P
I don't really know why I 'organized' it so much. I hardly seek out games from my library. Everything I'm currently playing is neatly organized on my desktop, on a dock.

Honestly, it's really handy when I'm switching between games. It's always really easy to find what I'm looking for, especially when I'm just in a mood for a certain genre, haha.
But... it can be a little difficult to navigate it sometimes. I usually just use the search bar.

Game series. A lot of them. It was really long, but I did it.

Favourites - Games with no single player campaign, that i can play at any time. This consists mostly of Multiplayer games, roguelikes etc.
Beaten - Single player campaign games that i finished.
Betas & Shit - Beta versions and other additional trash that comes with some games.
Default generic steam category - Games i haven't played or finished yet.

Do you use categories? If the answer is yes, how do you rename these categories to organize your library?
I'm curious because I have a chaotic library, I only used 2 categories "Meh" and "Good", but I don't like it.
EDIT: So, i modified my categories. I've "only" 100 games and I like this organization:
-Favorites
-Beta
-Bioshock Trilogy
-Dark Souls PTDE & II
-Football Manager
-Gifts & Bundles
-Historical
-Metro Redux Bundle
-Multiplayer Online
-Portal Bundle
-Racing & Sim
-Square Enix
-Survival Online
-Telltale
Many categories, but I like it.
