Steam group announcement
Whats really baffling me personally in the whole story is the number of people actively defending the creators who were effectively doing stolen assets (for which they had zero authorisation from the original da artist). I mean really? I highly doubt that they didnt knew the origins of the original artwork and even if they did, ignorance is not an excuse to break rules
The question shouldnt be whose the most guilty from said contributors but the fact that they had to sign an agreement as a workshop contributor, which indeed includes legal liability too. Its sad to see that at the end of the day, everybody is more concerned about how to profit off everything, be it legal or illegal, even though some idiots put Valve in quite a serious legal problem and you can be sure that they wont give their backs for idiots who are unable to understand how basic copyright works.
Hopefully that will serve as a lesson for everybody, even though its quite sad that it had to go as far. Its basically going down the way as steam tags did-when we cant have nice things thanks for a few idiots who ruins it for everybody
