You get a nice big message at the top of the screen if you win a giveaway, if you visit the site you can't miss it.
The gifter will have sent the gift to you by email usually or directly to your Steam account.
He has one week to send it, if he hasn't sent it within that time you can give negative feedback.
If the gifter sends it and it remains unclaimed for a full week the gifter is permitted to put the game back up for giveaway.
It is assumed that at some point within a week a user will have either checked their email/checked the site/logged into their steam account and seen the gift waiting for them.

also to Rand, I don't login to the site that much, only about twice a month. It would be great for an email.

If the person didn't send you the gift to either your email address or your Steam account, then yes leave negative feedback and the person will be banned.

So two weeks ago I won a gift. I got no notifications via email and was surprised to see I had actually won a game. I am surprised that the gifter didn't message me but I am MORE shocked that steamgifts didn't send me an email to my registered email address saying congrats.
anyways is there an expiration on the time I have to redeem gifts and if so why wouldn't steamgifts tell me as such?
