Maybe he doesn't know is region locked. Give him a heads up that it is region locked.

You can always search the name of the keys in the steam market to check if their value are worth.
I've never seen people putting fake cs:go keys in the steam trade.

Edit: Fake cs:go keys are a thing as show by the user Nimmy bellow.

So, he is probably going to resell the game. Just check if the keys are from cs:go and check his profile in Steamrep.

He looks like a fake to be honest, but the trade sounds pretty legit. He is problaby going to resell the game if he asked for games that do not exist, since they have a pretty high value for collectors. Just make sure he didn't/won't change the trade, check the value of the keys and make sure you are inside the steam website/program. Here is a faq of how to avoid scammers if you want to read more.

Sounds like they plan on using VPN to bypass the region lock or they will sell/trade that game to somebody in that region

He even asks me for games that do not exist in the store a while ago.

I don't think that's very unusual while you are talking about trading a game that is also purchase disabled

In the same thread we can see that they "solved" the problem. Here. Is this still a thing after 11 months?

1.Have you ever played CS:GO?Look for a message like "You never played this game are you sure you want this item" when you trade. If the message pops up it means that the item is not from a game you ever played on your account.

2.Make the offer yourself and pick the "real" keys.

You can always make a report in case you get "scammed" and I heard that Valve actually respond to the tickets(not very fast but they do).

I mean, it seems you've taken all the precautions and AC3's price has increased after the re-release.

I personally would've pulled the trigger, but who knows, I might've gotten scammed. You're doing a Steam trade, so it's not like he might just not give you the keys.

Perhaps you should just make your own trade offer where you pick the real keys then.

  1. yeah
  2. pobably
  3. I just told he to give me a capture of the purchase of the keys

tell me how much cost the game gift?

The global gift's around 30€. But honestly, I expect the price to rise a bit since the game's no longer available on the store, gift copies are already rare on their own and so you might get a better deal.

Mafia was removed from store a while back and the gift copies sold for like 300€.

wow I never heard, to mafia 300 euros.

Well, I mean, it's obviously no longer 300€. The game's back on the store. But yeah, listings were around that price while the game wasn't available. Though, the price will obviously alter since the remastered version's available on the store.

  1. The keys are real. Also CS:GO items are non-refundable and can NOT be deactivated or revoked.
  2. All games published by Ubisoft come only as Uplay keys if bought outside of steam.
  3. AC 3 has been removed from the steam store meaning that steam copies for AC 3 are very rare (unlike Uplay keys which are fairly common). Copies of AC 3 Deluxe are almost impossible to come by.
  4. He could be a collector (e.g. wants to have the game as a gift in his inventory) or he just wants it on steam and will activate it with VPN.

The problem with collector's games is that they cost as much as the collector is willing to pay for them. It's very hard to set up a price and if you do, you might have to wait months or even years until you find a buyer. I'm no expert in removed games but....
AC 3 for Uplay costs 5-10$. It was bundled and there are a lot of leftover retail copies so it's cheap.
A ROW (no region locks) steam gift of AC 3 will probably cost 20$-25$. A ROW AC 3 Deluxe will probably be double, 40-50$.
A region locked AC 3 gift will cost a lot less. My guess would be that a region locked AC 3 Deluxe will go for ~15$.

It's probably fine, gift copies can't normally be generated anymore (as Steam removed the option to put gifts into your inventory) so they fetch a premium for collector purposes, they might never actually redeem the gift.
