I liked it but the question is do you like stealthy games in which you can't fight back (Amnesia, Penumbra, Outlast)? then you will probably like it, especially if you are a fan of the alien franchise. You should watch Angry Joe's video about it if you want a fair and good review. Just in advance the game features ALOT of backtracking.

I honestly love it. I bought it on steam summer sale and i must say it is one of the better games ive played in my steam library. It puts you in the shoes of a character who has nothing but her wits and sneakiness to get past a alien. On top of that you have other threats than just the alien on board the ship. In all i honestly think the games worth it. others may not agree but it was different than most the games out there today.

on a technical level, the game is fantastic.. it looks great, plays great, and apart from one or two later levels being superfluous and dragging the game out a little long, i cant fault its storytelling or gameplay...

beyond that, only you can know if genre-wise and gameplay-wise, if it interests you.

It was good enough to buy at full price.

On sale you'd be an idiot to pass it up, especially if you are an Alien fan.

I highly recommend starting the game on Hard difficulty for challenge, otherwise the Alien will have dull senses and tunnel vision.

My goty, most intense game ive played requires headphones as it has the best audio. and the visuals are beautiful

After watching gameplay of Alien Isolation it looked like the worst stealth game ever. The enemies have no peripheral vision in this game. You can be crouching behind something and an android will come around and walk right by you and not see you. I mean like right in front of you, so close it could be touching you, in a normal lit room. Same thing with the alien. You can be crouching in plain view in a brightly lit room by a door and the alien will walk through the door like 2ft. away from you and not notice you. It's stupid.

Even when you're in front of it it can you fail to detect you. You can hide behind something that clearly doesn't conceal you at all, like a really low desk, and you're crouching like 5 ft. behind it so you're obviously in the open but the alien still won't see you. Then other times it'll instinctively look in places where you are hidden well and discover you. The stealth is jacked in this game.

I had this in my wishlist but removed it after seeing the gameplay and how broken the stealth mechanics are. Yea the game looks nice but I won't buy a game on graphics alone.

Should you like stealthy games, go for it. Personally I didn't like it as I'm not fond of these kind of games. I got stuck in several moments and once I've given up. Another thing is required in the game is a great deal of patience, because the route of alien is randomised and in some occasions it may well just jump out of the blue in front of you without giving you chance to escape. Combined with the small number of checkpoints it may pain in the arse, at least it was for me.

Alien isolation is the best alien of the franchise, you feel the movie, you feel horror.
