Hello fellow gamers!

i'm searching people for a steam group i just created and would love to give some of you the chance to join it! Keep in mind that most my giveaways will come from humble bundles or other type of bundles. So in case you get those anyways, there is probably no need to join, since we probably share the same games.

now the rules, cuz the group is closed off.

1) Don't be a d*ck

2) Follow steam and steamgifts rules

3) Be level 3+ on steamgifts [www.steamgifts.com] (or know me personally/well online)

4) Actually play the games you win.

5) Be rather active in overall steam (see in the info below)

6) If you don't follow rule #1 be aware to be kicked out faster than you can think.

Also, be aware that maybe not everyone will be taken in, and i dont want to add more than 250 people for now. Maybe 500 if alot of people join. I want a rather small group to give a high chance to people to actually win!

Applying:
1) Follow the rules and join the group -> https://steamcommunity.com/groups/mahrysgiveaways
2) tell me your favorite animal and why
3) let me know a passion/hobby of yours
4) name a game you love and one you hate (the "hate" part will not limit your chance, dont worry!)
5) the last/best book you ever read
6) tell me a funfact about ANYTHING!

Info: Once i have at least 50-100 people i will start a group only GA! i will try to keep the more valueable/popular/expensive games to the group GA instead of the open ones.

  4. One of my favorites, I would say Hollow knight. I hate all the multiplayer fps.
  5. I'm reading the Orcs serie from Stan Nicholls, really like it. My favourite probably the Royal Assassin series from Robin Hobb. (don't know real english name)
  6. Fun fact : Do you knows that ears and nose grows during all your life ?

2) I dont have a clear favorite, but probably cat. Why? Cz one kitty was quite kind to me when I used to be extremely sad.
3) Cooking as a hobby. I dont think im currently passionate about anything. I do ocassionally enjoy cooking. I feel a sense of acheivement as I enjoy the end result.
4) I'll name the ones I won from SG. Game I loved: Chained Echoes💖 Game I hated: Monstrum💩. It made me even more mindful about the games I enter to win on SG.
5) Its been a long while since Ive completed a book, i cant recall. But Im currently trying to read On the Shortness of Life. Fingers crossed.
6) Its physically impossible for pigs to look up to the sky!🐷

  1. I like turtles (I think it's because I was really into the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles lol), random pic of my turtle https://i.imgur.com/WLEmy3l.jpeg

  2. Besides gaming, I've been into music for a long time, especially music production. I used to make a lot of videos doing meme remixes, although I've hidden a lot of them or they've just become inside jokes within my social circle (Here's one: Turtle Remix :D)

  3. Love: The World Ends With You, I played it on my Nintendo DS when I was a kid and it's still my favorite game to this day. I really connected with Neku (the protagonist) at the time. I haven't had the chance to play the sequel yet.
Hate: Since I like so many things, there have been very few games that I didn't like or "hated". But I recently played Heavy Burden and I really didn't like it.

  4. Steal Like An Artist by Austin Kleon! I'm a creative person in general, and my current job is even design. But I loved this book because it talks about how to be creative in different areas. It's a very enjoyable and easy-to-read book.

  5. How to Cook Chicken By Slapping It?

Given that the average human hand weighs around 0.4 kg, has a velocity of 25 mph (11m/s) when slapping, and one slap could generate 0.00089 degrees Celsius it means that it would take an average of 23,034 slaps to cook a chicken at 400°F (205°C).

But to do this, each slap should have a velocity of at least 1,665.65 m/s or 3,725.95 mph.
You can cook a chicken by slapping it at 3725.95 mph, an impossible task by any human means.

If you do succeed however, you will not only cook the chicken but also decimate its entire structure, causing a violent explosion.

If you were to slap the chicken hard enough to cook it, it would spray itself all over the walls, and you'd pretty much obliterate and cook your hand in the process too. This, combined with your arm bones being shattered and all the bleeding out, will probably distract you somewhat from serving up and/or chinning the potatoes.

1- Applied
2- Dogs are my favourite as pets. if we're talking about ild animals then snakes and the thorny devil.
3- Playing games and reading books
4- I love Resident Evil games, Dragon's Dogma and there are too many I'd have to list. I dislike bullet hell games.
5- The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss is one of my fabourites. Other than that Mistborn, The Lies of Locke Lamora amd The Witcher
6 - Tigers have strips on their skin too.
And about rule 4. I'm trying to 100% most of my games and I'll get to at least beating the ones I won. I'll do so with Dave the Diver near the end of March when I finish the last games from an event I participate in.

Dear Mahry,

1.) read, understood and sent join request.
2.) I choose the eurasian otter because they're playful, cute, and fun to watch, making you happy when you see them. Also they sometimes keep rocks as toys and for training.
3.) My passion is stories and storytelling. I write, collect and search for stories of creative and weird topics. Can be a folklore, a story from elder people or some made up creepy pasta. Especially movies and video games tell nice stories. I also collect concept art which inspires me.
4.) A game I loved to play Loop Hero. It is quite simple but the weird storytelling captured me. (the same as Death Stranding)
A game I didn't like was Sacred Citadel. It had a very dull humour, superficial comments from the characters and simple gameplay but I played it coop with a friend what was nice.
5.) Last book I read was 'Earth for All' by Club of Rome. Best Book was 'Dune' by Frank Herbert (and the sequels).
6.) Fun fact: Bananas are radioactive. They contain potassium, and a small fraction of that potassium is the radioactive isotope potassium-40. But the amount of radiation is so small that you would need to eat hundreds of thousands of bananas in one sitting to experience any adverse effects!

It would be an honour to join you group.
Best Regards, Sir Myr the 13th.

  • Favourite animal most likely to be dogs. I never had one, but since I was a kid I would always play with them (street dogs, or my grandma's)
  • Passion used to be football, now it's videogames
  • Game that I love, The Forest, the one that got me into gaming in the first place. Game I hate... Hello Neighbour... OMG it was an awful experience.
  • Books... Hmm.... I know I have read some... I am assuming comics don't count... The last one I remember that was interesting was Brave New World.
  • A silly way to recognize between crocodiles and alligators, crococdiles cannot stick the tongue out, alligators can. So get your hand close to one and wait for it to bite you, if the tongue is out, it's an alligator, if not... well... maybe it was crocodile or a lazy alligator, so try again :).

Love Golden Sun and hate... uh... path of exile for eating my time(don't worry I still play it)
I don't read many books, its the digital era!... converting question to Manga(closeenough.jpg) so I can answer, Berserk! ... im near the middle of it atm and I want to push through but knowing it will likely never come to a conclusion(RIP author) is putting me off.

1) Follow the rules and join the group -> Agreed and Done!

2) tell me your favorite animal and why
I love Manatees! They're friendly, harmless, river potatoes that have no natural predators and positively impact the environment! Also, the babies are super cute!

3) let me know a passion/hobby of yours
Gaming would be too easy lol. I love to read though, especially fantasy and sci-fi. I love stories that are outside of what I experience in my daily life. It helps me escape the pressures of work and distresses my tired brain.

4) name a game you love and one you hate (the "hate" part will not limit your chance, dont worry!)
I absolutely love the Mass Effect Trilogy, it was the first game that I played that had serious consequences for my choices. I could make a choice in game one that would have aftereffects through game two and three. Having that strong narrative along with my own input heavily affecting the outcome made me sooooo invested in it! I love pretty much any game from Bioware that focuses on a single-player narrative.
On principle, I despise the game, Anthem, for nearly killing Bioware as a studio, pushing microtransactions, and EA generally making bad choices that resulted in a bad game overall. I typically don't play multiplayer games in favor of choice-driven single-player games but Bioware was certainly not the studio to produce the kind of game EA was aiming to create and it showed.

5) the last/best book you ever read
I'm reading a lot of Dystopian/apocalypse types of books lately. Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry is a great series of zombie books. But I've also been reading some of the classics like Fahrenheit 451, 1984, The Giver, and The Stand. There's just something really fascinating about humanity in crisis. Some would even say we are currently living in a dystopian society now.

6) tell me a funfact about ANYTHING!
The planet Uranus was originally named George!
Yoda and Miss Piggy are voiced by the same person.

My favorite animals are cats!
Hobbies: games, music, politics, science, etc
Love: Prey (2017)
Hate: not sure - I usually drop games pretty quickly if I don't like them. I guess Lego Rock Raiders was kind of a love/hate relationship :D
Book: been a while since I read anything. Crusade in Jeans was a good one! Though I hear the translation is not so good...
Fact: people say cows have 4 stomachs, but actually they have 1 stomach with 4 compartments

2) Animal: Horse. They are elegant.
3) Gaming of course. And comics (and not only American. European, Japanese and all sorts of them)
4) Right now: Two games I love: Forza Horizon 5, Diablo 4
Game I Hate.... I don't know, if I don't like a game, I stop playing it or don't even start, so... no time for hate really (I could have written here a mobile PTW game that I played for a year and got me hooked, but I didn't hated it)
5) Best book, I doubt between two: Mason & Dixon and Crime & Punishment. Diferent ones, and the latter blow my young mind when I read it for the first time.
6) I spent 12 years of my life celebrating my birthday the day my Mom told me I was born. But the doctors thought otherwise and that I was born already past 12 p.m. and wrote that one on my birth certificate.

6) Student Carolyn Davidson designed the Nike logo. She was paid $35 to make it.

Animal - Elephants, they are majestic, very smart, and have no natural predators (except for humans of course :( )
Hobby - I love films and cinema, it's my go-to time spender whenever I am low energy or feel down.
Game - For the one I love I could go with Witcher 3 or the new Tomb Rider trilogy since these are my favorite games overall, but I'll say Oxenfree, because it's a smaller game, not very well known, and I absolutely loved it and think it deserves more popularity. And for the one I hate, I'll say Bioshock 2 Remastered, not because of the game itself or the story, which are amazing, but due to the publishers who absolutely broke the game implementing their useless and pointless 3rd party launcher, and can't be bothered fixing it. Playing the game was horrible and I nearly gave up on it due to constant crashes and visual bugs.
Book - Last one I read was Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari, and my favorite book is Sleeping Murder by Agatha Christie.
Fun fact - The reason there are so few intact mummies nowadays is the fact that Victorian British royals and the elite consumed most of them in powdered form as medicine.

1) Ok, easiest task done
2) Dog, specifically my dog, sitting net to me right now.
3) Fantasy and Sci-Fi in general from different sources so books, games, movies and tv shows.
4) Binding of Isaac - always happy to return for quick session even though 100% it already twice. FIFA - that ate way too much of my time during lockdown, so happy they kept making it worse each year, so finally decided to quit.
5) Where do I even start. Maybe picking most recent ones will be best. Last two I read were "Heart of Darkness: Unraveling the Mysteries of the Invisible Universe" and almost all short stories by A.E Poe. Currently reading Dust of Dreams by Steven Erikson and Accelerando by Charles Stross. Favourite one is hard to pick, so let's say author- Brandon Sanderson, definitely gonna have most books in my top ~25.
6) It is mathematically proven that sum of all natural numbers --> 1+2+3+4+5.... equals -1/12.

1) Request sent!
2) I actually want to work with animals, so it's really hard. For now I would probably choose tree cangaroo, simply because it looks like real life Pokemon
3) Animals (working in animal shelters/rescues) and movies (movie criticism and production)
4) I love The Binding of Isaac Rebirth (I actually have 1000+ hrs there) and I probably hate every game that is trying to be too "thought-provoking" (I like when a game is deep, but many of them are just trying too much - like Etherborn I played recently)
5) The last book I read/listened to was Painted People. Humanity in 21 Tattoos by Matt Lodder
6) The oldest evidence for tattooing people date back around 5000 years ago
