That value is the average paid so far. It changes with each bundle that's bought. If you paid above the average when you bought it, you'll get all the bonuses for paying over the average when they become available (assuming that Indie Gala is like Humble Bundle in that regard).

that's correct -- i've paid over the average for past indie galas and then the average has gone up over what i paid and i still got the later bonuses added for people who beat the average.
