Looking for advice on checking Nuuvem region locks. Some games are very easy to check on steamdb and the warnings are easy to find. Others are less clear.

One I'm having trouble with is High Hell

The Nuuvem store page it says that the game cannot be activated in Europe or South America.

steamdb only says 'Cross region trading and gifting is disabled' which I think is only about gifting through Steam and doesn't apply to keys.

dlgamer says that the game has worldwide activation.

Other sites are less clear, other stores like the Humble store have no information that I can see, and Gamebillet just checks the region I'm accessing the site from.

So, is the Nuuvem warning incorrect?

https://steamlocked.com/app/673000 No region locks.

So I think that Nuuvem doesn't sell some keys to other regions maybe for price reasons only. Happened me once with a key that was sold only in Brazil (I'm in Chile) but worked without problem.

This is what I thought - no region locks. I don't understand why they list restrictions on the site. It doesn't seem to stop me from buying.
Thanks for confirming the steamdb information, I'm always a bit worried that I'm reading the wrong section or missing something! :)

Most of Nuuvem keys bought in Brazil have region lock restrictions. I just bought 4 and 2 of them had region lock. At this moment, the best advice I can give you: ask someone who bought and activated before you if the game has region locks.

Thanks for the info from your experience
That would be a good way of checking, I guess I need to build a worldwide network of friends that I can check with though!
I don't mind taking the risk of it not working when the key is for me, just risky when I plan on giving it away

I guess the difference is based on our different geographical location. Thanks for checking. :)

always check before buying, they have keys that are region lock only to Brasil, most of them are for latam, and some row.

the restriction is shows under the price,
if you use vpn, prices in usd are shows acording to us steam store, its better to choise brasil in the vpn, that shows reales and choise to make the convertion to paypal, I never use credit card, so I dont knows about them,

for me, that im from argentina, it shows me the prices in pesos (I think they charge that in the credit card, but its more expensive than the argentinian store for most of the games), using PayPal, and paying in reales is cheaper for some games, just a few of them, from Konami, and others devs,... for the rest is mooore cheaper the store here.

Thanks for the information.
I can access the site and buy the key without a VPN. I haven't tried activating it as I was planning on giving it away.
I guess I should ask someone who lives in one of the restricted regions to see if they can activate it before I try and give it away, or just stay safe and use the regional restrictions Nuuvem lists.

This Steam group is focused on games that have Denuvo and also when it's removed from the games. They might know what's going on with that game.

Thanks, I'll have a look.
The warning is on quite a lot of games in the nuuvem store, so I wonder if they just apply the most common region restrictions to games they sell rather than checking closely.

In 2016 I think it was, games only sold in Brazil, I've bought a few of them, L.A. Noire being one, through a brazilian reseller (couldn't buy via VPN because needed local payment and Paypal non brazilian card didn't worked).

Checked on Steamdb and all the games worked in Argentina. There are keys region locked to Brazil only. If the game doesn't have region locked to Brazil, maybe they're selling LATAM/South America region locked, if it doesn't have that lock, maybe you can activate it.

steamdb only says 'Cross region trading and gifting is disabled' which I think is only about gifting through Steam and doesn't apply to keys.

AllowCrossRegionTradingAndGifting tag is deprecated since Steam changed their policy regarding gifts (when they disabled the inventory gifts as direct purchases).

The only tag you have to take into consideration when you buy game keys is PurchaseRestrictedCountries. Example -> This package is only purchasable in specified countries

Thanks for the reply.
I guess High Hell is region free then, I'll look out for the purchase restriction notice. 👍
