There are too many awesome games in this world! By next week, there will be even more awesome games!

What are some games that you have purchased that you haven't even gotten around to playing yet? What game has kept you the most busy that caused you to neglect other poor awesome games?

With Skyrim coming soon, my neglected games will be even more neglected.

Currently, I really want to find time to play:

  • Bastion
  • Cthulu Saves the World/Breath of Death VII
  • Amnesia
  • Fallout: New Vegas
  • The Last Remnant
  • Psychonauts
  • Thief: Deadly Shadows
  • Tomb Raider Anniversary
  • Trine
  • The Witcher
  • Gemini Rue
  • Cryostasis

Those are all games that I have either barely touched or not even installed, but still own.

Some games I've played a little but not enough of are:

  • Haunted: Hell's Reach
  • Grotesque Tactics: Evil Heroes
  • Half Life 2 (I know, I know...)
  • Bioshock 2

It's ridiculous how many games I've bought when they went on sale only to not play them ever. I bought Psychonauts for $2 on Steam over 2 years ago... still haven't touched it. I think TF2 has been my biggest distraction... and in many cases waste of my time after a certain point :)

How about you guys/gals?

TF2 is why all my games get neglected. I figure whenever I do decide to open my Library one day, it's going to be AMAZING.

Wish I had these games you never got to play :3
As for my backlog, it no longer exists thanks to the 2 months paid vacation.

Yes I have a backlog. I'm slowly trying to remedy it but Skyrim will knock that goal timeline back.

I don't worry about a backlog, at the pace I play games if I played all the games I wanted in order of release then in 40yrs or so years I'd probably be up to the mid 2000's and would have barely touched the games on my Steam account.

Such are the hazards of approaching games from the 80's with similar enthusiasm to those of today, and having a very sporadic desire to actually play games. It's hopeless, interesting games are released at a rate that vastly exceeds my time or desire to play them and years and years worth of interesting games exist from before I ever started playing games.

I still haven't managed to spend that month or two with X3: Terran Conflict, so my fleet is ridiculously small. I also have a bunch of unplayed games from GOG, the justification being these are so old they can't get much older waiting in the shelf. :-)

Oh, and then there is this bajillionth playthrough of Morrowind I'd like to do once I come up with another set of self-imposed rules. Difficulty to max, no weapons, no armor, no stealing, no magicka regeneration, hopping on one foot. Something like that.

I think I have some 60+ games (and their expansions) in my backlog. Some maybe even 20 years old.

And then there are steam games that I bought on a whim and haven't played yet.

The closest thing I have to a backlog is the games that I got which were included in Eidos bundle, but I never even planned to play most of those anyways. I always find time to just completely blow through a game right after I get it (which is a good thing because as soon as I get a new game I won't play any of my other ones until I beat it/get another new game).
Just recently I got Alpha Protocol during the Sega sale, and beat it the day after I got it (with almost 100% completion). When I bought PAYDAY, I had logged over 20 hours within 3 or 4 days of getting it.

Edit: After thinking about it, I do have some REALLY old things in my backlog. Namely, I have quite a few N64, PS1, and PS2 games that I haven't beaten yet. This includes, but is not limited to:
Ogre Battle 64
Chrono Cross
Drakengard
Final Fantasy VIII and XII
...I also technically haven't beaten Oblivion yet (but I played it so much that I'm bored of it)

I've got quite a few games I haven't even installed yet, and even more that I just haven't played yet... That's not counting the games I haven't completed.

Ones I haven't played once are:
Amnesia, Aquaria, Crysis, TES IV: Oblivion, Fortix 2, Frozen Synapse, Gemini Rue, GTA II, GTA III, GTA IV, GTA: EFLC, GTA: VC, HL2: E1, HL2: E2, HL2: Lost Coast, Lugaru HD, Metro 2033, Nimbus, Overlord II, Penumbra: Black Plague, Penumbra: Requiem, STALKER SoC, Samorost 2, Shadowgrounds: Survivor, Sonic Adventure DX, Space Channel 5: Part 2, Time Gentlemen, Please!, Titan Quest: Immortal Throne, Trine, Universe Sandbox

And that's not even counting the ones I've only tried for a few minutes, just to see if they run or for whatever reason... I think I need to stop buying games >_<... I have actually started just buying them as gifts so I can redeem them if I'll ever actually play them, or just trade or give them away if I'm never going to use them.

Yup, lovely backlog here. Most of them are from the HIBs. I don't think I'll ever play a few of those games, since they're not exactly my type of game. TF2 also wasted a lot of my time (wasting time for me to play another time=waster... never thought I'd ever say that!).

I just got AI War: Fleet Command since it's been on my wishlist for quite some time, but now I'm worried that I'll never have the time needed to play it. It definitely looks quite complex. I think I'll just let it sit in my inventory for now.

I'm too bored of video games to just jump into them and start playing them.

I'd rather sit around infront of my computer and look at cool stuff on the internet sadly enough

Also get to playing Pyschonauts OP its one of my favorites.

my backlog right now is:
Alpha Protocol (i wanna do another playthrough, more of a badass agent instead of a shadow stealth assassin :D)

Arma 2 (whenever i put my mouse on it i just feel a sense of boredom, it happens with some games untill i actually start playing them)

Day Of Defeat: Source (really need to start playing this one)

Frozen Synapse (i grab it from time to time, still gotta finish the campaing, then go full out online)

Magicka (this is a big one i gotta finish, got the hang of it a couple of weeks ago and suddendly stopped playing it)

Nightmare House 2 (if i had Half Life EP 2 i'd be playing this one so bad)

Red Orchestra 2 (lack of servers in the area are a pain)

Spacechem (at first i was like COOOOOL!!!!, after the first levels and a few headaches i grab it when i'm really bored)

Team Fortress 2 (i know, kinda weird, but i'm not a big fan of this game, still havent got addicted to it i guess)

Trine (looks interesting, but......nothing more, i do wanna finish it though)

The big problem with those games is that i have some more that REQUIRE my time a bit more:
Killing Floor (just got this a couple of days ago, and already lvl 6 of most of the perks....Oo)

Battlefield 3 (having a slow start but i'm really enjoying this one)

League Of Legends (a classic of every day, skype rings and its a 5v5 match almost instantly)

And then there's Skyrim once i buy it, DOTA 2, DIABLO 3........some busy vacations ahead :D
