My inventory is filling up with these things. I don't ever use the emoticons, and I have one background set on my profile just because I can. I don't collect these, but I also haven't gotten rid of them after crafting game badges. Most are worth a penny in the steam marketplace, others can't be sold.
What do you do with yours? Any 🧠out of the box ideas?

I don't pay attention to most of them but use some. Most just sit there and if I notice a double I'll sell it or trade it for one I want.

I try to sell most backgrounds and emotes. I have maybe 20 backgrounds that I am fond of and have used for my profile. I never use emotes but keep about 10 that I like. Non-marketable backgrounds get gemmed as do the non-marketable emotes. 95% of my inventory space is cards as my particular fetish is crafting badges. Just one item (I think) that cannot be done away with is an old seasonal profile background that I bought. Loved the background whilst I had it - hate that the item now takes up one inventory slot and will never leave my inventory.

I keep them and use some of them for trades. I collect some badges that I like the design of but trading 1:1 is kinda rare, most want a extra random card, emote, background or gems, so if that is the case I use it for those trades.

I hoard them. They´re gonna rise in value and become the next bitcoin... someday... I´m sure!
Spoiler alert: They wont.
