Generally speaking, downloading any sort of media legally... equates to paying for it. You buy something digital versus a physical copy.

uhmm you can watch on Crunchyroll legally but there aren't a lot of shows, don't really know any other place lol

I don't know specicially about downloading, and I would imagine most of them would be illegal, but if you're interested in streaming both Funimation Youtube channel and Crunchy Roll are both legit free streaming services or at least I think crunchy roll is, although I'm assuming you probably know most of these.

Playstation Store. Amazon Instant also has anime, it is still easier to stream anime than download it. Amazon prime has even more anime. Crackle has some older anime, but is streaming only and buggy/crashy. Your best bet is to not download but instead use software to screen capture the video as you stream it if you must have it offline.
