This month we'll get the "Humble Big Disappointments Bundle", filled with things you used to be really excited about before you saw 'em:
No Man's Sky
Street Fighter V
Battleborn
Xcom 2
And a digital download of the Suicide Squad movie
BTA for classics like Duke Nukem Forever and Aliens: Colonial Marines!

To be honest, I'm mostly being snide. I haven't seen it. But the things I read about it and the reports I got from friends I trust were so bad that I didn't want to pay for it. And I was really hoping that would be the good superhero movie this summer--it was the only one I was excited about.

I could tell just by how they made the Joker look it would be bad, but I haven't seen it either and I will when I get the chance.

"show don't tell" is a big thing in writing... don't just tell the audience what you want them to know, show it to them in a way that means something. It's the difference between "this guy is evil" vs "this guy picks up a puppy and snaps its neck".
It focused too much on the effects, and didn't develop the story. (and seriously, by now audiences no longer get wowed just by special effects). Too man characters, with not enough time to explain who they are, waht they do, etc.
Will Smith's deadeye was ok, no more, no less. Margot Robbie's Harley is good, but didn't get enough screentime.
not gonna discuss the Joker, because opinions vary wildly there
Basically, it needed more Harley, less everything else

two key things to remember about writing: "show don't tell" and "every story has a beginning, a muddle, and an ending"
what that means is, most writers spend a lot of time and effort on making the introduction strong, and on finishing strong, but they tend to leave the middle part weaker; from an audience point of view, the beginning grips them (or loses them); and a strong ending blows them away; if the rest is good, they'll slog through the boring parts in the middle. but they shouldn't have to

That's at the top level, along with a Sim City (2013) t-shirt.
