What's the problem with 0 giveaways people? Set level restriction to 1 or 2 and you'll never see them.
Comment has been collapsed.
This! The easiest solution for the OP is setting the level requirement for his giveaways to 1+ or 2+.

I thought this site was more about giving regardless if others have?Since when did giving become about how much the other has given? That is like having a Charity and saying before we give you food you need, you need to give some of your own food.
Would i like to see more people give back sure, but i do this because i want to share with other people,You can chose to do level GA,and not give to those who have given nothing,I give to all kinds of people and i never make a GA higher then my level.
Also if you giving games you have a source of income or some other source to get them,as games just do not pop out of thin air.If you wish not to share with those who not give simple solution would be to make +1 level only GA,not demand them to give back this site is open to anyone regardless of if they give back there is nothing saying they have to give back.
Still to claim you have no income and still giving there is a catch some place, and regardless of that just because you can do it does not mean that is how everyone should be there choice if they want to give back or not, this site should be about giving and not what others have done.I do not donate food and say come on people i am starving but i still give food back,so you can also.
Nice try, your free to feel that way but the simple solution for you instead of a silly rant is just make +1 level GA problem solved. Then you can make a thread bragging about how you have no income and make Level 1 GA's

There is no obligation to give away, nor should anyone be required to do so. Why do you care, and why should it matter to you? This is a charity site. Give away and receive.
Comment has been collapsed.
The problem with " Give away and receive. " is that some SG users (the ones with high xxxx$/0.00$) are deliberatly and intentionaly not willing to contribute and only willing to receive. In every orchard there's bad fruit and thats a good reflection of the world we live in. At the end of the day being a philanthropist gives one a high chance of being misused, abused and taken advantage of.
The OP is maybe a little harsh but he or her has valid thoughts, points and questions.

I don't see how this is a problem. I understand where you're coming from, since it's a view I once held, but like I have already argued before, including with you: people are not required to give away. They are under no obligation to give back and, being a participant in a charity site, there should be no pressure to do so. Why should they? Do you believe SteamGifts is not a charity site?
In every orchard there's bad fruit and thats a good reflection of the world we live in.
The only "bad fruit" I see in this thread are individuals like OP who try to obligate others to give back.
At the end of the day being a philanthropist gives one a high chance of being misused, abused and taken advantage of.
Correct, but being the recipient of charity and appropriately using the gifts being received is neither misusing, nor abusing, nor taking advantage of the philanthropist. Who is the victim?

First of all YOU calm the fuck down. don't get butthurt when people say something you don't agree with. It doesn't change the fact that sliders are set to give pretty much the same amount to HB and to the charity. I don't give a flying fluck how easy it is to move the sliders. I never said it was hard or "too much work for me" so chill out kid.
Now be a good boy and go rant somewhere else.
Comment has been collapsed.
What's your point? I'm talking about SteamGifts, not Humble Bundle. HB is not really a charity site, but a business which allows users to donate to charity through their purchases. To call Humble Bundle a charity is misleading. To call SteamGifts a charity, however, is apt.

In my country, international transaction is blocked on debit cards (except those by private banks which only corporate and rich people can afford) and there aren't a single student friendly credit cards. So I can't even buy bundles for myself, let alone others DIRECTLY.
So everyone have their own reasons, rather than judging them just set your ga to min level 1 so that the level 0s cant join. Simple.
Comment has been collapsed.
Unfortunately I can't get those either since none is available in my country :(. I need to send the money to someone else who has the means to buy the bundle.

I'm looking from the other perspective:
Why the need of levels if you just want to giveaway a game? I just don't understand that. If I want to giveaway something in a random site like this one, I don't mind in which hands end. Why? Because I'm giving it away from me cause I don't want it. Otherwise I'd be adding it on my steam library.
So, the point is that as you level up you can access more giveaways from people that only want to give away their games to others who actually give away games. And that's how the world works as well. Big countries are solidary if they get something in exchange.
Well... I just like to think about stuff so intensly haha. Anyways, I love this site (how can I not, right?) and I'm using it how I like. If u think I'm poor you are right. Is that an excuse to not give away games? No, I don't give away games cause I prefer to add them into my steam library or giving it to my friends. I hope u didn't notice I'm not english :P
Tell me how you guys fell about SG levels and that stuff, I'm curious; see u!
Edit: I forgot to say that whenever I have money from a job it's in my plans to give away some games to compensate all I won. But for now I have to stay as I am right now. You can or can not believe that, that's another point, but I feel I have to do that in the future

Who have forced you to make any give aways with no income?
You expect a website that has free giveaways with no requirements to be free of people who don't want or cannot give anything? What kind of a fairy tale you live in?
This website is about people who like to give.... If you discriminate about people who chose not to give at all then your intentions are not pure either way....
It is none of your business what people do with their money. It just so have happened that you chose to spend it on gifts to strangers. Now live with your choice and stop judging others
Comment has been collapsed.
Not sure what the meme was supposed to be for....
Reading from your comments you seem to have some salt against people who "Leech" ... Well guess what. No one is obligated to give you or anyone registered on this website anything. It is your choice to give games away, and if leechers bug you so much, then start managing your black list with people with 0 GA's
Why do you personally give games away on this website? What is the reason behind it?
Comment has been collapsed.
I'll try to keep it short.
I registered on Steam in February. I met some people I've played with and they were all really nice to me, to that point that I've got trading cards from them and one even bought me Payday 2. My faith in humanity got a little restored and I felt like giving back. I always tried to give them games in return but they didn't accept them so I needed another way to repay my karma. I found this website, thinking people had similar motivations, but found out most are just here for fr333eeee g4meeZzz. Now I'm pissed and will tell people about it in every discussion about those topics.
And that's how I became the Batman!
Comment has been collapsed.
So you are pissed because people are using offers to gain something for free...
If you don't feel like this community suits you and you are feeling that your faith in humanity is lost again - Well no one really keeps you here. Obviously giving games away to "Leeching pests" is something that upsets you and you will not be doing it, and as far as I understand you are not the type to receive games for not doing anything. So there you have your solution. You don't like it - Please leave and keep your salt in your own jar....
And you want to tell me that if you go to a store or just on the street you see a booth of people offering free sandwiches or coffee or candy or whatever and you are never going to participate... Specially if the line to wait is none existent
Please.... Save your self righteousness for a movie or something... Maybe when you'll become a super hero or whatever.
It is a capitalist world, and unfortunately money is the drive.... If a grocery store will suddenly offer free milk for anyone, guess how many people would be waiting in line and how many of these would take 30 galons with them despite not having a place to store it or consume it before it goes off
In a world where money is everything - Even the glimpse of something that can be gained without paying will be overused and perhaps even exploited. Welcome to the real world "Batman"

The OP is maybe a little harsh but he or her has valid thoughts, points and questions and he or she doesn't break any SG rules by countering xxxx$/0.00$ " contributors " by setting the level requirements of the giveaways to level 1+ or more. It's the prerogative of the gifter to set on his or here giveaways the level requirements he or she deems fit; period!

I don't get why people are always so concerned with what others do/don't do. As long as it doesn't affect you directly, who cares?
If people spent as much time improving themselves as they do trying to improve everyone else, the world would be a much better place.
Comment has been collapsed.
Optimally, everyone would be trying to improve themselves. Unfortunately, the reality is that too many people are not only not improving themselves, they are trying to drag others down to their level. Hence, the existence of conflict.

Arrogance is a trait we should all avoid. Anyone complaining about what is being given has lost sight of why we give.

Well actually i won some games by the time i joined this community and i decided to give some games too. So i said why not create a train? I planned to get a 10 euro paysafecard and buy some games. Some hours later paysafecards stopped production in Greece, cause you know economy and etc and i couldnt do the train. I was like "oh well" and i purchased a cheap game with some cs go skins and gave it away. So actually that 1 giveaway i made is like 0.
Comment has been collapsed.
If I can afford to give games away, anyone can. Some people are not interested in giving, however. To each his own.
Comment has been collapsed.
This is so true, but sometimes I think this opinion isn't allowed here by some SG users and trying to talk to these SG users is like talking to a steel plated, concrete wall.
Comment has been collapsed.
yep to each his own. you wouldn't by chance know the coding needed to make a link invisible in the description would you
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't use steamgifts too often. But meh 4 giveaways seems good to me.
Comment has been collapsed.
And again you don't understand like most of the people commenting here.
Nobody is forced to give away on this site, they are just casual people coming here and using 300points like me. On other side there is people like you who is bothered with fact "they are leechers" and that is your problem.
So let's use scale of the universe! On one side there is casual people who get here to use their points, on other side there are people who live for this site and too much hooked up on SG (how to build up more CV, how to make private groups, to win AAA titles etc etc)...
Problem solver: Make giveaways with lvl1 at least and shut up already for the Jesus sake...
Comment has been collapsed.
It is a bit sad when people have upwards of 400+ games on steam and don't give anything and only take, but I wouldn't blacklist for it. I would love to share with everyone, but I don't really want to deal with people who misuse the site or don't understand it, so I use level restrictions which is unfortunate for the people who can't afford to give. :(
Comment has been collapsed.
You could change the rule to start an account at 0 points and not let it accrue any points until a giveaways is completed.

All of you people with zero giveaways need to step it up. Here I am a guy with 0 income and i'm almost level 2........ What's your excuse?
So yeah there is a little something more than just a plain old rant. However I wanted to stir the pot just a bit so that maybe just maybe I could get some people in here for this crappy game :)
http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/eXT40/sacraboar
Also I really don't care one way or another. I personally think if you join a community you should give something back after so much is given. Lets say you have a field of rice if you keep taking and taking and you never once turn around and put one or two seed back into your field you'll eventually run out of rice. Maybe just maybe one of those leechers might see this and start contributing and become a part of the community who knows. Now come on bump this thing there are more coming!
Anyone wanna play driftmoon
