Probably my favourite developer to bash ever. Koei Tecmo hasn't had an original idea since Dynesty Warriors.
I set difficulty on hard but it seems this game is meant for 2 years old because even thou i have no clue what any buttons actually does ( thanks for amazing tutorials again ) i just plow throu everything with 0 effort. Is this supposed to be so ?
I haven't played it myself but one of my buddies did and from what I can tell it's not supposed to be challenging. You're supposed to make 3 million hit combos that destroy planets while also showcasing signature moves from One Piece.
I'm not sure if that was Pirate Warriors 3 but I've been told you can put the controller down and just watch for several minutes and the oponents are not strong enough to hit / kill you.

Difficulty or well lack of it is really strange indeed. Even spectacle fighters ( which this one kinda of sorts is? ) requires quite a lot of skill on higher settings but this one just ...doesnt. At any level.

My buddy plays them because he's a huge fan of One Piece but judging from the gameplay they seem to be terrible games where you just kill trashmobs and take controll points (in SP). Granted I only watched him play it for ~ 30 minutes but for me Naruto seems to be a much better Anime game (the one with story not the Beat em up) with much nicer presentation and gameplay.

I played it to 100% achievements, there's definitely a lot of stuff that isn't well explained. Coins level up your characters stats and abilities, leveling increases the length and selection of combos and wanted posters give you access to better intrinsic abilities (like making your super-mode last longer or making it easier to charge). Gameplay doesn't get particularly rough until late in the game for story mode unless you're trying to complete the optional story objectives, and doing those in an efficient way is where most of the actual challenge lies... you'll have to start managing event orders and timing, protecting weak characters and points on the map and arranging for things to occur like certain npcs to meet up when the AI doesn't care about that happening at all. It's not particularly difficult to "win" a level but it takes a fair bit of effort to fully clear it.

Not really a spectacle fighter... This is a Musou game.

Excuse me when I'm missing something but
One Piece Pirate Warriors 3:
Developer: KOEI TECMO GAMES CO., LTD.
Publisher: BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment
And the game uses the same gameplay every Dynasty Warriors game has been using since the franchise was created.

No problem ;) I should probably check out some Hyrule Warriors gameplay and see if the ported the game into a 3rd (?) setting, just for shits and giggles :D

I won the gold version last week too. I can't play more than a chapter at a time due to my thumb bothering me on my gamepad but I'm still loving it.
Not all Dynasty Warriors games are bizarre. This one is based off the anime which is off the wall bizarre. I read the tutorials and I STILL don't know how I get that random scene that shows Luffy holding a guy in mid air from a distance and doing an attack.
But I digress. Dynasty Warriors games can be a bit hectic at times due to the enemies on screen and it can be easy to lose what you are doing. Last kind I played was on my friends old PS2 years ago his import of Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 in 2 player. THAT was a lot of fun.
So I say forget the bizarreness of the game, jump on in and enjoy the ride. After all, the main character, Luffy, seems to be a gag character in it's own right as he is WAY OP at times in the show. And I'm convinced that he's immortal int he show as well as he never dies. No matter what happens to him.

Guess that's the difference between us, I hate tutorials and LOVE to dive right in not knowing that I'm doing. Figuring things out as I go. I find games to be more fun that way,

Not a huge One Piece fan so maybe I'm missing something but while I agree that Ruffy is (like Son Goku) a funny character, of course he can die. Like any Devil fruit user he can't swim and drowning would kill him, which is kind of an inconvient downside for a Pirate :D

Huh, I thought Gundam Musou Special was the only PS2 port of the Dynasty Warriors Gundam games.

I've played many of the Musou / Warriors games over the years, and I must say that the One Piece mechanics were confusing. Other titles were less unique. The most complex in the older titles was simply merging two weapons to get skills from both. :P

So i've just won One Piece Pirate Warrior 3 yesterday and decided to try it out just now. Looked like a fun time. But boy this game is so alien to me. I never played any destiny warriors style game in my life but i never thought they are so.....mindblowingly bizarre.
1.5 hours in i'm still bombarded with tutorials for things i have absolutely no clue about . Coins, skills posters, levels of something , skills of levels of coins of posters....WHAT??
I set difficulty on hard but it seems this game is meant for 2 years old because even thou i have no clue what any buttons actually does ( thanks for amazing tutorials again ) i just plow throu everything with 0 effort. Is this supposed to be so ?
Please ,someone just get me onto right track and mindset :D Game seems to be fun and i kinda do like it but this type of game is so alien to me so far i fell like i'm just wasting my time.
