Greetings, greetings! Did few more giveaways these past days and to my surprise I was 50% to reaching level 5; ~175 value. Yay! Today I saw that it dropped to 130, but the hover info still shows that I have only 1 no value game which I was aware of.

Can this drop be caused by some of the game's price drop? And if so, is there any tool which can reveal such info automatically?

Thanks and happy holidays, people!

Its based on steam sales price. Now its winter sale and will get back to normal after.

Edit: was mistaken. Thought about the classic "Daedalic collection" price.

Oh, I had no idea it takes discounts into account!

Thank you!

It does not, it always calculates with full, USD price. It has to be something else.

No it's not? it's based on the normal price, not the sale price so during a Steam sale it won't change the CV.
CV can drop by 3 reasons

  1. a game was free (or super high discount but not sure what % exactly) before you gave it away and it changed later (since mods are busy so it can take some time)
  2. a game got bundled (since mods are busy so it can take some time)
  3. the base price of a game went down since it's based on the US base price.

Pretty sure it's number 3 most of the time. Many games get their base price reduced after some time, and if it's been bundled the CV will still get a small reduction.

Many games? From what I know not many games actually do that, maybe some AAA games(?) do but for indie games I don't think that is very common, or at least I haven't seen many games that did. I sometimes read that a game went down, but I don't see that as a common thing.
Most games given away here are bundled games and free games so people will mostly notice if those give less or no CV after the gave it away and so lose CV.

Erm, I think it's usually the other way around. Especially with old successful games that received multiple updates over the years. One example that I can think of is Banner Saga.

As far as I know, Steam sales only affect CV if a Steam bundle containing the game drops below the games base price. In that case your CV gets inflated to the value of said Steam bundle, e.g. 20$ Deponia to $160 Daedalic collection. Reduced value on SG should be applied anyway.

Ah, it was probably that I was thinking of.

If you got something from a bundle, it might not immediately be added to the list yet, but later, so you can always still drop in level again later.

Now this might be the case! I didn't know this process was manually and it actually explains why the boost from the last GAs was that high.

Thank you!

:) You gave some 10-15p games away, you would really notice more of a drop when it happens to a 25P, especially 50p one offcourse.

You think level 4 is a challenge? Wait till you are 7, let alone 9. :} On bundles alone it will take years.
