Hello my fellow SteamGifters,

As the title says, I will shave my head and facial hair, and then let it grow for 6 months, for charity.
I will accept donations for this, which will be collected and then sent to WCRF in one big sum.
I decided on the 1st of December to match all donations, meaning that I will double the grand total of money gathered through this project.
All proceeds will go to the WCRF

Important edit!

Since I got a few 'hate' comments, I'll explain it more and more clearly:
People like to donate money to charity, but don't always do so, because you are giving away money.
I give an incentive for donation, by putting an action of mine against it.
I also donate, and the amount is dependant on how much my actions raised, since I will match that.
I have thought about donating my hair, but I noticed my hiar grows really slowly. It grew 3-4 cm in the first 2 months, and another 3 in the last 3,5 months. Since hair needs to be at least 15-20 cm, or rather 30-40, for donation, I don't think this is going to be an option for me, as I have very problematic hair, especially when it gets longer.

How this came to be

Since I normally sport facial hair, I thought about changing my style, or shaving it all off. To prevent tan lines, this had to be done before summer.
As I was thinking about this, I though to myself, why not my head hair too?
This reminded me of an acquaintance who did not shave his hair and beard for 6 months to raise money for charity.

The Plan

As of this saturday, the 1st of July 2017, I will shave off all my head and facial hair, and then not clip, cut, trim or shave it until (at least) 1st of January 2018. Then, I will check if my hair is long enough for donation. It has to be 15cm
I will take a picture every day, and also pictures of before and after shaving.

Summary

Shave all my head and facial hair off on 1 July 2017, let it grow until 1 January 2018
Donate if you wish
Ad revenue from ad links and ads on blog will go towards the fundraiser
If you don't have or don;t want to use a credit card, you can donate to me via PayPal.
I have made a separate savings goal in my bank account, all the donations will go there, so it stays separated form my personal money.

Updates since last time: The fundraiser actually works now (my bad), other methods of donations, 2nd blog post

Update: It's been 5 months since I updated this thread. The last month now approaches. I have had a lot to do in the last few months, as school started again, then I moved out, then I had tests, and when I was settled, I got ill. So, now I do have time, so I will be making more time for this, and more celebratory and attention getting givewaways.

This is exactly the reason why I could never sport a shaved head like that, I'd probably get in a lot of trouble ;x.

Thanks for the input, just googled it, and seems about 15cm a year yes.
I'll see, since from my own experience (I trim my hare every 3-5 weeks) it will grow about 2 cm per month

I haven't cut my hair in a year and a half, and last time I cut it it was around medium length already. I plan to donate to charity once I finally get a haircut again, maybe once I've reached two years. Best of luck with your efforts as well!

Did you even read? I give people an incentive to donate money, that they otherwise would not.
As stated in my blog post of the 1st of December, and I will restate it here (will update the OP):
I will also match all donations, meaning that I, myself, contribute as much as everyone who contributed to my project.

so you're raising awareness and motivating people to part with hard-earned money with a hair-cut? It's not a joke? Even if your friends and some nuts enthusiasts respond, you're contributing more to stupidity than charity.

Would you like to analyze my avatar as well? Let's stick to the facts - hair-cutting charity gala: it's not serving its purpose, and pointless from aesthetical and logical point of view. If he wanted to donate he'd do it without noise (or with some productive noise). Pretty clear that I find the format ridiculous not the charity concept per se. And I don't wanna argue over such ridiculuos topic so try not to incriminate me things I didn't say (I don't bash him for donating, no, I just don't understand why others here let slide trivial and stupid and pointless)
