I thought it would be fun to ask an AI to predict the Feb '23 Choice selection from Humble. After telling me it couldn't predict specifics, it did offer a general list though!

"...based on my general knowledge of video games and the types of titles that have been offered through Humble Bundle in the past, I can suggest some possibilities for the types of games that might be included in a future Humble Choice bundle:

An action-adventure game set in an open world environment
A tactical role-playing game with complex character development and branching storylines
A first-person shooter with a science fiction or post-apocalyptic theme
A puzzle-platformer with a cute and colorful art style
A real-time strategy game set in a fantasy world
A survival horror game with a tense and atmospheric setting
A sports game with realistic gameplay and detailed player models
An open-world sandbox game that allows players to build and explore at their own pace

Please note that these are just some examples of the types of games that might be included in a Humble Choice bundle, and are not meant to be taken as definitive predictions. The actual selection of games offered through the service can vary widely."

So there you go folks, consider these a lock ;)

I'd re-rejoin for this, if such a game existed. 😿

I know it's good, but it's obviously so time consuming I'm scared to try it. First spend a couple of months figuring it out, then spend a couple of years not being able to stop playing cause of how deep you're in haha.
But yeah, I was thinking more of something with Xcom-like gameplay.

Have you played X-Piratez, the X-Com Mod? It might be what you're looking for.

If you want something more like the modern X-Coms, Troubleshooter is good, though it lacks branching storylines.

Thanks, I'll try that mod some time. And I recently bought Troubleshooter too, I was waiting for when it's 100% finished, but I guess they won't stop updating it lol.

I'm sorry, but I am unable to predict which games will be included in future Humble Choice bundles as my training data only goes up until 2021, and I do not have access to current events or the ability to browse the internet. Is there anything else I can help with?

I got a longer reply.

I'm sorry, but I don't have enough information about the games that will be released or popular in February 2023 to make informed guesses about what games might be included in Humble's Choice that month. The selection of games for Humble's Choice is usually based on a combination of factors, such as the popularity and quality of the games, the diversity of the genres and themes represented, and the overall value of the bundle. Without access to current or future market trends or the decision-making process of Humble Bundle, it is not possible for me to accurately predict which games might be included in Humble's Choice in February 2023.

I'm the OP and I did ask this and I tried very hard to get it to be specific but it wasn't playing ball.

Interestingly, when I first asked the question, it didn't know what Humble Choice was. I explained in my own words what I think it is and it was then able to carry on the conversation!

I mean I know it's just fun and games, but there's three inconsistencies with this answer:

  1. The bot basically names a bunch of genres that have been the most common before in humble bundle games.
  2. It assumes that lesser genres or new genres are much less likely to be in it, although I believe it's humble bundle's best intention to offer different types of games every month, rather than try and do more and more what they did last month.
  3. I think the most obvious mistake is that it basically names 8 completely different types of games, while I don't think any bundle has ever been this unique, but I could be wrong. It species 1 horror, 1 puzzle, 1 sport, 1 sandbox, 1 open world action game, 1 trpg, 1 rts and 1 fps.

I'd like to see this 3.5 version compared to the 3.0 version.

Covering all the bases.

If I ask who the next person I meet is, and you say a man or a woman or a non-binary person, you’re right - the person will be one of those.

I really want The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia but the other games in the bundle are not appealing to me at all.

I gave it a go, and asked it for games that have not been in past bundles but are match the characteristics of games that have. And then I asked for indie games with the same criteria.

Here are some examples of games that have not been included in past Humble Choice bundles, but match the characteristics of games that have been included in the past:

The Division 2
Far Cry 5
Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Borderlands 3
Doom Eternal
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
The Evil Within 2
Dishonored 2
Tom Clancy's The Division
Bioshock Infinite
Sniper Elite 4

These games are similar in terms of genre and gameplay style to games that have been included in past Humble Choice bundles, such as action-adventure, first-person shooters and stealth games. However, again please keep in mind that my knowledge cut off date is 2021, so some of the games listed above might have been included in recent bundles and new games that have been released recently might also fit in this category.

Here are some examples of indie games that have not been included in past Humble Choice bundles, but match the characteristics of games that have been included in the past:

Hollow Knight: Silksong
Hades
A Short Hike
Celeste
Katana Zero
Waking Violet
My Time in Portia
They Are Billions
Moonlighter
Minit

These games are similar in terms of genre and gameplay style to games that have been included in past Humble Choice bundles, such as action-adventure, platformers and strategy games. These indie games also tend to be created by smaller development studios, rather than large publishers.

Nice! It wouldn't give me titles when I was asking but I see they've updated to a new version which might have added this. Thanks!

At first it wouldn't give me titles, it gave me a response very similar to yours, then I responded with something like "give me examples of games that match those characteristics and which have not previously been included in a Humble Choice bundle"

I wonder how accurate this is gonna be, I mean ChatGPT is trained on data from 2021 and earlier.
