Heh, I still remember reading about the guy being locked out of all his EA games for saying Dragon Age 2 is a bad game. Which it is.
Luckily I've never started using Origin and I'm not likely to change that any time soon, exclusives be damned.

They try so hard to beat steam and keep doing this and wonder why everyone hates them.
I've only used origin once when they had Burnout paradise going for free.

whats wrong with ubisoft (besides their DRM)? I used to like them. Also idk about Activision. What evil do they do?

I think we can only blame ourselves. If alot of PC gamers pirate games, and they seriously don't think they will earn something, we have to face it.
On the other hand, we make quite alot money from AC, and don't do anything "evil" with the PC version.

I for one never pirated a Ghost Recon game. Piracy had nothing to do with what UbiSoft is doing with Ghost Recon. Piracy is on consoles too, it takes a bit more effort to get it to work, but it still happens. All this DRM and canceling PC games because of piracy is hurting the actual fans and consumers not people who download the games. No doubt they would have stated piracy back when Ghost Recon 2 came out, but that wasn't what everyone was talking about then. It is the new go to excuse no matter the circumstances.
Gabe agrees.

Ubisoft has basically abandoned the PC audience. Constant internet connection for singleplayer game? Come on. Although piracy may be an issue, loyal customers would purchase the game if they like it, just as I would. I don't have a single pirated game on my computer. But if you start pumping a metric shit ton of DRM restrictions into your game, you only push your customers away towards piracy and piraters continue to pirate because that DRM meant to prevent them always gets worked around and in the end the DRM solely negatively affects those who actually did purchase the game. Its terrible logic, DRM is not the answer for piracy.

To be honest there really are some people in the world that deserve this. People somehow thing posting in a forum gives them the right to be rude, swear, and overall disregard common courtesy. While one might 'flub' out something verbally without thinking, it does take a bit of time to actually write something out and then click send. To say that you're not responsible for that is somewhat disingenuous.
I agree that as an overall policy, linking forum bans to game bans is not a good idea. However I've seen some things in forums where, 'firing the customer' is the right approach.

"firing the customer".. from the forums.. is a good idea. I dont care how rude or belligerent someone is, having your games/property removed from your possession is theft plain and simple. I can hear the trolls warming up, "but you agreed in the EULA/ But your only allowed "access" to said property" blah blah. Someone paid for this product so they can enjoy it, having access revoked to that is theft. If EA finds no problem with stealing from its customers, then perhaps the customers should just steal from them.

While I agree with you that if you bought a game, you should be allowed to do whatever you want with it (barring copy it to spread to friends and mod to gain an advantage online, obviously), the EULA IS a contract and is DOES say you only buy a license to play the game. Until someone contests that particular brand of bullshit and we see how well a EULA stands up in court (to my knowledge, no-one's yet done this), the EULA is, unfortunately, valid.

I can tell you with confidence EA is working hard on fix those "Issues", just take a look at this pic.

I can see EA's reply now.

This has been happening since the release of Dragon Age 2, people were posting complaints in the forums about how huge of a flop it was and their accounts were banned, they couldn't play a single player game - DA2. Same with BF3, at release it received a lot of criticism because it adapted COD and modern fps styles rather than sticking to their original formula in BF2. Its just plain censorship, but I believe most of the banned accounts were resolved, that being unbanned.

It sounds like EA wants Origin to fail. Maybe take the company down with it.

I am in ORIGIN, BATTLELOG AND BF3 and I can almost assure the bans were cos of insults, bad words, etc.

“Under my guidance, Britannia will flourish, and all the people shall rejoice and pay homage to their new… Guardian!”
Did that hurt EA really so badly that they drag the name Origin through the mud, even after more than 10 years alter they gulped the studio?? I say down with it, no EA online platform for me. EA is the doom of the industry: many good studios got swallowed, never to see their glorious past again... "Thou shall rest in peace old friend"

proof that EA is full o shit... just look at the price of Sims3 and each of their DLCs... not that anybody that I know plays that, but it does prove a point.
meanwhile, try and relax guys... here, have a bit of Romanian love to go around: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mS7KAeMKl3k&feature=g-all

"I’m building up quite the portfolio of affected gamers, who find after a forum violation they’re unable to access their Origin games. And within this is a more disturbing trend – those who are finding that their forum bans are, without explanation, becoming permanent bans. Permanent bans from accessing their Origin accounts, their Battlelog accounts, and therefore downloading purchased games, and playing online."
