reveal and document in a spreadsheet everything from HB always
some keys will actually get unused ones revoked, check the bundle posts for them and see if any reports. ones without reports might work, might not... nobody will know until someone tries.

Carenard's advice is the way. Just another vote for looking up the bundle threads on this forum. Check top post for overview and crunchy details, check end of thread for updates on keys getting revoked or whatever.
Also, there's another thread just for general revoked keys. Teslagrad dev is big on that lately.

Not a stupid question. We just don't have a good answer.
This is the question that been asked a few times. I've seen no definite answer. Humble refuses to clarify what exactly this means. It seems that they will no longer show it or help if it does not work but the wording make it seems like is no longer a valid key. (Steam says otherwise) But they won't clarify.
It seems that if you had copied the key down elsewhere it will still be good when it disappears off the HB page. This is not always the case as noted above by other posts.
I have keys going back to when I joined. Most reveal, some don't. Some have limits that were NOT there when I bought the bundle. Its not good. Most of my keys are in a secure spreadsheet. I'm hoping when HB says they expire that the keys themselves are still good.
Steam has always said keys don't expire. They can be revoked by a dev due to fraud but this should not affect the average buyer (but it has) and it should not occur often.
I just looked. My oldest unused key in my spreadsheet is from 2016. The HB page still shows it. Its before they started saying everything expires. I think it should work. I've been going through my spreadsheet and reveling all the old keys and putting them in the sheet.

I reveal the keys and keep them on a document someplace because the "expiry" thing is BS.
I have activated two keys my sister gave me from a bundle that was supposed to expire months ago and I made giveaways with the two other keys that were supposedly expired and guess what? They all worked.

Do you ever have any issues with revealed keys being duplicates? I know sometimes they do that exhausted bs as well as the "expire" so you can lose them in 2 ways. Some of the keys I have are very old removed games so I worry they will be exhausted. I don't want to have issues with them if I just add them to my spreadsheet

Hasn't happened to me yet. And I have activated or given away keys that I know for sure had been revealed years ago with no issue.
The only keys I have ever had issues with were keys that I had just revealed (from Fanatical and Humble) thinking it would be best to keep them unrevealed.

I've had duplicate issues with a few keys from old bundles. Teslagrad 1 & 2 were a recent issue with Fanatical. Humble has had maybe 2 games that were small indie games from huge bundles that reused keys multiple times. I don't remember their names, but it's pretty rare.

Yeah, I've had indie games removed from my account or key revoked rarely. Do AAA ever do it?

Pretty much what you'd expect from Humble these days. I suspect the "expiry date" is more to convince publishers that they won't have to deal with the grey market problem but in any case, I have now redeemed or had other redeem 11 keys that were supposedly "expired" by months.
I can't guarantee it will be the case for every key and it's definitely better to activate or give them away asap but I wouldn't throw any key away because of past expiry date and it's certainly a much better idea to reveal them before they "expire" than to lose them to IGN's greed

in simple expire means the key is longer there. So redeem your keys before it happens.
edit: sorry, was doing something at the time... So wrote wrong.
TLDR: Reveal the key because (humble choice) sometimes keys are exhausted and not in the shop anymore for awhile... As for the expire part, you need to redeem the key (activate in steam) before the exipiration date.

On the date of expiration the dev or publisher is supposed to deactivate all the keys that haven't been redeemed that are part of that key lot/batch. When you try to activate one of these keys it will tell you that it was activated on another account.
With regards to keys that are older than 2 years old, I would use them asap.

Steam keys do not expire. Deactivating keys requires manual action by the developers of the games. Most devs do not do this. Of course there are some that do so you have to be careful and do research on a case by case basis.
What actually "expires" here is Humble-s willingness to give you a new key if you didn't reveal one previously or if the one you had turns out to be faulty.

Stupid question but, when the keys "expire" what does it do? I know you can't reveal them anymore, but do they actually expire or can you still redeem them? I have like 7 years of keys and obviously a lot are tagged to expire or can't be revealed. Just curious if it's worth revealing the ones I still can and writing them down or to not to care.
