I am patient enough to accept all bot requests and report+block them when they actually send something.
This type is just new to me:

Never tell your password to anyone.
<bot>: Hi, we held a competition in the group <a group I am really a member of>. Prize http://li.ro/blahblah
<bot>: You have been selected as one of ten random winners.
<bot>: You can choose any 5 items from the list on the screenshot http://li.ro/blahblah

(EDIT1: li.ro itself is just an URL shortener)
(EDIT2: removed group name)

Did you ever had the faintest feeling that reporting bots has any effect?

This is even worse, I mean, you could say, meh, another bot hiding as a trader, but now they get people's hopes up and and disappoint. Also, some newbs will add admins of mentioned groups asking for thier win -_-. Good thing with the new steam update, bots may be gone.

It is more of a bad thing, but complete newbies may try adding group admins only after successfully reclaiming their abducted Steam accounts. The link gets the obligatory malware .scr file.

Unfortunately, hijacked accounts will still run rampant spreading their malware. The new update will only slow down the creation of new bot accounts. (Still, if they manage to bring the number of bots down, it will be well worth it.)

I don't have problems with bots anymore because I don't accept private profiles. (unless they comment on my profile before they add me).
Just make sure when someone talks to you that he isn't a bot, Start a conversation or something.
You can report them but I never really felt like it helped.

I had another way that was more closely related to the old one.
They would add then go offline as soon as i msg them to check real/bot.
Then later, maybe after a day or two, when I'm ingame, I get a phising link pop up.
