Paypal wont let me buy on steam

I havent actually tried somewhere else but paypal wont let me buy on steam now, it says "Your purchase has not been completed.
The payment processor has reported an authorization failure. Please select a different payment method." (I have used paypal before on steam, but in summersale it went all crazy on me)

What could be causing this? i already lost torchlight 2's 75% off (hoping that it goes to 75 again on daily deal)

Because there are several paypal/steam employees here who know exactly what the problem is.

I can tell you what I think is the problem, but using common sense would give you the same answer.

Your account might be locked out for some reason or maybe you can't process specific transactions?
Why didn't you call PayPal in the first place again?

do you have a credit card attached to your paypal account? if yes, then try to contact the bank support...sometimes, the bank can put restrictions on online purchasing because of fraud attempts (especialy if the paypal account is not verified).

i do have a credit card, and ive used paypal on steam before and use it on amazon all the time, my account is verified too... arg... gonna mail paypal.
